I have an Epi Rivera and can’t wait to own a 335. Amazing tones and great video as always!

Clapton is my absolute hero and his 335 is my favorite guitar ever and a few years ago I got to play one at Gruhn's in Nashville and it was $14,000 at the time and I would take mine over it any day and mine is a 2003 Dot Neck made in the Memphis factory in the early days when they moved down to TN to start making guitars. It's a really awesome one with an insanely hot neck pickup.

Ain’t no sunshine at crossroads…. That 335 tone sold me on the semi hollow thing. Beats a Les Paul any day

Something that is more fact than rumour, but still not fact. The bodies of the Crossoards 335 where (allegedly) made in japan by the Terada factory, where Orvilles and epiphone elitist where made. This is because gibson didn't have the molds for a 1964 es-335 body shape, but Terada did have the shape, look for late 80s japanese rivieras, early 90s orvilles, 2000s elitist 335s and all the Terada-made 335s under other brand names (VG, El Maya, etc), the bodies look more like the clapton's 335 and Crossroads 335 than any 64' reissue that gibson has ever launched, tom murphy included. This was kind of acknowledged by an ex gibson exec on the les paul forum, but i can't remember his name (kind of "i can't confirm or deny" type of comment). On the other hand, gibson released a video of the factory building the clapton 335, but they never showed workers making the body of the clapton 335, the bodies shown on that video were for other production 335 models.

Correct, the horns on the EC 335 models are not quite right. I think the horns are somewhere in the middle between the 'Mickey Mouse' '59 style, and the sharpness of the '64. The new '64 ES-335 VOS is right on. Someone on the phone at Gibson said that was made using Cesar's personal '64 ES-335 as a model.

It seems like people who come over from Fender to Gibson call them a "three-three-five". People who are obsessed with Gibsons from the beginning and start with Epiphones or another brand call them a "three-thirty-five".

Here's me just messing with mine playing Try. It's the song I most associate this guitar with when I think of him playing it. kzbin.infobpYBgUVeJBE
