Marth has still been one of the best characters in every Smash title he's been in with the exception for Ultimate where some say he's Mid-Tier. However, in the first Smash 4 Tier List, Marth was a Low Tier before receiving significant buffs through updates.

Marth being good makes sense considering most of human history they evolved to use long pointy sticks to outrange other animals and camp them out before moving to an autofarming system. Idk may be a successful stratiegy idk

Would have been a significant loss if he was cut from the international versions and then in an alternate universe, you would've had to use an action replay code to play as him, cuz i assume they would've been unused content in the international releases if they decided to leave Marth and Roy out.

As a Roy main with Marth as my pocket, (I'm not as good w/ him but he's my clone.) Here's the main fatal flaw that Roy has when comparing him to Marth (imo): Roy needs to hit twice: once to stun, next for the KO. He needs to pool noodle once before he can land the killing blow usually Marth only needs to hit once and it does both. It puts them in good hit stun to combo with & if you sweet spot it, that's a kill right there.

Best character in melee and super cool in project m/+ etc. Really wish he hadn't gotten his design changed in smash 4 at times. If they were gonna change it they chould have made him more combo heavy and aggressive like a sword sheik with a visibile indication of his sword style proficiency being that like of fencing.

Marth genuinely is the only character in Melee that I think can take the #1 spot from Fox because his ability to control space almost uncontested is unreasonably oppressive at the best of times in a similar vein to Fox's unmatched speed.

Marth and Roy in the Fire Emblem universe are from different places. Marth is the prince of Altea, a country located on the continent of Archanea. Roy is the prince of Pherae, a country located on the continent of Elibe.

Most fe games have alternate worlds and timelines. Ike for example is from the Tellius games, FE9 and 10. Marth never shows up in any of those games. Marth does however have a connection with Chrom and Lucina, as Chrom and Lucina are distant descendants of Marth, which is why Lucina takes up the Marth alias in FE awakening. Robin Corrin and Byleth have 0 connection to marth.

Unpopular opinion, but I think with defensive play being better and the shiek uprising, Marth is just another high tier. I think he has fallen from grace out of that Fox/Marth tier and is only propped up by how insanely good Zain is at the game. Being unable to kill is a curse worse than death in this game and marth has to work so much harder than other characters. Monster tippers withstanding. Idk how he shores up against falco, shiek, falcon, and peach, but two of those characters seem to beat him decently well. Time will tell I suppose, but I only see marth getting worse as time goes on. Honestly a big part of his thing is just that he has a great punish on spacies and fox propaganda. I think we are past the point of 6-4 meme and its even at best. Goodnight sweet prince.
