I remember this from a game informer magazine from before the release of Thieves in time so this info might be outdated, but I think that Rioichi wasn’t jailed for selling bad sushi, apparently El Jefe poisoned the sushi when he wasn’t looking. And how’s this for a wild side story. The murals in Rioichi’s sushi shop tell a weird but heartbreaking story: Rioichi deadass had a pet shark that served as his mount in war. Eventually the shark got old and as its final request it wanted to be the very first Sushi plate Rioichi ever made. A request Rioichi granted

Sly Cooper is such an underrated franchise that’s even neglected by Sony itself. Hell, there was virtually no marketing for Thieves in Time and a lot of people didn’t even know the game came out. I wish playstation would give this series as much respect as God of War and Uncharted. But at least we have people like you to keep the series alive. Thank you so much for this video!

*Sly Cooper* was a major part of my childhood. I didn't play the games in order, but did own the original trilogy until they were unfortunately eventually worn down beyond playability from scratches. Despite my best efforts, that is (I grew up with two messy sisters, but we were kids, I hold no grudge). I've considered buying the remastered collection on PS4, but heard it doesn't play as well. While I'm biased in favor of *2* as my favorite since it was my first, I can definitely understand how many fans have come to prefer *3,* specifically its more personal story + gameplay improvements. As special as the first game is, it hasn't aged nearly as well in gameplay from my assessment which is why I never replayed it after finally beating it once. *2-3* really perfected the core gameplay loop imo. Then, we come to *Thieves in Time,* the series' *Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.* I remember how excited I was when it was first announced despite feeling that *3* was a near-perfect ending to the saga. I was even okay with the radically changed look, considering how nobody I know of complained about *2's* shift from the original's art style. Most of all, I was hooked at the time travel premise. The idea had intrigued me since *3's* ciffhanger, and I relished the thought of playing Sly's ancestors we'd spent the first three games learning about. You can imagine my reaction to the end-result. *Thieves in Time* is a textbook example of what NOT to do in an intended sequel/reboot. It not only fell short in taking full advantage of its concept to evolve the gameplay in any meaningful way. It also managed to further botch the plot, retroactively undoing so much that *1-3* accomplished. Sly & Carmelita's status quo was once again reset, undermining everything they'd been through. Fan-favorite Penelope's rewriting into what felt like a different personality did Bentley dirty, all for a cheap double-cross. Paradox wasn't a fraction as intimidating as Clockwork, nor compelling as Dr. M. Yes, these were kid's games but that doesn't justify such sheer incompetence. This IP appealed to generations, yet suffered some of the most thorough & avoidable mishandling in gaming history. Worst of all, Sanzaru brilliantly ended it on another cliffhanger we'll now likely never see resolved. Overall, I still love *Sly* but will NEVER consider anything beyond Sucker Punch's trilogy canonical.

Man it felt good hearing about the thieves I know of before Persona 5 took that mantle and now the Phantom Thieves are the only thieves these youngsters know about. Anyway, wow Carmalita sucks at her job, Sly was a cool raccoon thief and the story as a whole was just fun. Sucks that all we have is a cliffhanger ending and the movie will never happen, but at least we still have the original trilogy and four. Also, Wait a minute I only knew about Xiaolin Showdown and I never heard about Xiaolin Chronicles. Sounds like it wasn't good and Franklin.......yeah I agree with Consistence, that show was so boring. Great job with the video as always!
