What makes never gonna give you up a great song are some simple things. In his voice you can feel he means it to who ever it's ment for. There is emotion and feeling there. While it was very low budget with him just using clothing he owned in a rather random place. He looked like he was having a good time and enjoying himself along with everyone else in it. My favorite thing is that Rick Astley himself has been rick rolled. It was around two days before this video was posted on the r/pics subreddit. It was from a comment on a pic from his first tour. The rick roller claimed to have met Rick Astley during a back stage event when he was twelve and included a link to what would be assumed to be a picture, but of course it wasn't. The rick roller has received nearly 2600 awards on this comment which will give him years of reddit premium according to a post on r/theydidthemath. I don't know how this guy will ever feel joy again like what could possibly come close to this accomplishment.

This is still my favorite 80's song. It's my husband and my song when we first started dating in March '87. I had heard of Rickrolling but didn't understand what it was or how it started, so thanks for the explanation. Rick has a great voice and I am glad it has helped him relaunch his career. I don't know him personally, of course, but glad he kept the iconic song as is. It was that perfect window into some of the best lighthearted dance music of the era.
