Tige tank for all of these videos and I even have one of the Frisian books! Also this video really makes me wonder what would have happened if Frisia was never defeated and was still standing to this day as a country.

Hope you enjoyed the book! That's a good question and I'm wondering the very same thing... luckily we're still here...

Many of the visuals depict hills. There are no hills besides the small mounds where people pulled back to during floods. West Frisia and the coastal islands have some dunes. Flat, swampy, boggy. Mudflats. Also, no Frisian flags in these visuals. Medieval towns mostly had wooden buildings, brick used for Churches. Or course, no Church before the missionaries. For the most part, Frisia was not easy to attack as armies would sink into the bog .... one needed to know the local territory.

Wouldn't king Redbad's life be the perfect plot for a movie? I enjoyed so much this interesting video. Thank you! 😊

Glad to hear that! There's actually a movie about Redbad, but haven't seen it to be honest🥲

There is just one problem with this story. Those lands were controlled by the Holy Roman Empire and the Frankish Kingdoms. If he was a real ruler, he was a vassal king.

There is one problem with your statement, it shows your stupidity and lack of knowledge of the timeline

Redbad was mistaken, he should have embraced the Cross.

Eventually the Frisian did... but I understand why you wouldn't do that in a time like that...

Why, he was content with the traditions of his people and their way of life, he grew up a Frisian, he loved being a Frisian and he wanted to die a Frisian, he was not mistaken he was proud of who he was and of where he came from and would fight and die for it.

The Frisians might have been monotheistic instead of polytheistic. Gods were deified historical people that became legends and worshipped over time from my perspective.
