I think a lot of the media did not like him back in his playing days. Him holding out, they felt he was a cocky, arrogant diva. And often over the years media and sports journalist can shape the narrative about an athletes legacy, and they tarnished his legacy to a certain degree. He has THREE primetime, all-time records. Rookie season, single season and playoff game. He deserves his props.

Augford P. Doggie glad you asked. His wife’s sister was my moms friend at the time. I was about 12 or so and he was in town. I believe it was around 4th of July weekend. He showed me his hall of fame ring as well. Bought fireworks for us all. I got several autographs from my moms friend throughout my childhood. Dallas like every other defense Dickerson faced, planned, strategized and focused their entire game plan around stopping ED. Without any real passing game to speak off, Eric used his upright running style to give defenses no chance to hold him under 150. This guy had the perfect blend of speed, power and vision. Greatest RB I ever saw in the NFL.

He was a few yards shy of the record @Spenser His coach took him out of the game if I’m not mistaken because the Vikings were in the playoffs and he didn’t want to run the risk of injuring Peterson but if my memory serves me correctly he was like 9 yards from breaking it. There is a video clip of Adrian on the sidelines asking somebody if he had broke the record. I know A.D. hated that.

I was 14 years old on this particular raining Saturday this video shows me 32 and 49 seconds into this video . When my late grandfather and I went to see the Rams take on Danny White and the Cowboys. We were so happy to see the Rams win and move on to the next round 1985. Yeah they lost to the Bears the following week. But No one really had a good game plan against the Bears in 1985, other than the Dolphins that year. Anyhow, as a 4 the Generation Los Angeles Rams game ticket holder and then Season Ticket Holders. We were true and supporters of our team. Every year they would have a great season but miss the Super Bowl because of the Vikings, Cowboys, in the 70's and Giants, Redskins in the 80's and the 49ers in the late 80's. Anyway, this was a great weekend that I will never ever forget. My great grandfather and grandfather and dad are gone now, so my son are now enjoying the games and reliving the yester-years of beloved it Los Angeles Rams! Imagine this for a second, if the Rams would have never traded Eric Dickerson. Imagine the lethal weapons the Rams would have been with Dickerson and Everett alongside Henry Ellard, Ron Brown, Willie Anderson and Pete Holohan or Damon Johnson. How Super Bowls would have the Rams won or at least played at? We'll never know! Not with Greg Bell or Cleveland Gary, Gaston Green or David Lang. Aye! Georgia and John Shaw! Should have paid Eric what he wanted!

@@Herrera777 rams have long history of wasting picks, picking guys like everett n goff. sorry to the goff loyalists. both he and everett shoulda been super bowl champs had they a pair of huevos between them when a pocket was collapsing! both held the rock way too long and panicked if pressure was felt. imo the best qb’s in LA Rams history were van brocklin, ferragamo and gabriel.

He is absolutely right when he said Cowboys were too slow. Landry did a great coaching job to get the Cowboys that far but team was in serious decline by that point. And Tony Dorsett, who was the featured player of the Cowboys game plan that game, demonstrated zero comparison to Dickerson in that game. Life long Cowboys fan up to that point, I couldn't argue that Dickerson was best player on either team that day.
