Fun Fact: The Wicked Gods are all based on different depictions of the Devil. Eraser is based on the Dragon of the Apocalypse. In some versions of Christianity, this Dragon is also a form of the Devil. Dreadroot is based on the Baphomet inspired depiction of Satan, as a muscular demon with the legs of a goat. This is the mot common depiction of the Devil in modern literature. Avatar is based on the fallen angel Lucifer, the light bringer. It has a halo-like effect in it's card artwork despite being a massive sphere of darkness, meaning it's giving off light.

I guess that's what makes them weaker. Relying on your opponent inherently makes their use unpredictable since you can't control your own monster's power levels.

The Wicked Avatar has always been my favourite god card of all the line ups of "Gods". It's effect is simple, but brutally effecient, and it's the only god type card that truly lets you bend the rules of the game, making you feel like you are weilding the power to bend things to your will. Is it good? No. Is it a fun card? Of course. Also its design being a dark sphere is weirdly cool as an inversion of Ra, since it is basically what I'd imagine seeing from a sun heralding the apocalypse, which it is meant to be.

I remember being gifted a copy of Yugioh R a while I was young, and inside it had a copy of the Wicked Avatar. I had always tried to throw it into my deck as it seemed like a fun card to play.

The Wicked Avatar is one of those cards that’s just waiting for someone to break it and make it banlist material A lingering, one sided floodgate like that is incredibly broken even today Once it becomes easier to summon you’ll see people calling for it to go in exactly the same fashion as King Calamity

I have built and played a wicked god deck in yugioh master duel. Its tough but not impossible. You can easily summon any of the 3 in turn one if you use numeron network. You can search any of the three wicked gods with three eye ghost and you can get extra tribute summons with ancient chant. One of the best parts of the deck is how you can tribute your opponents monsters thanks to the newly released [spell card: "soul exchange"].

@@elmental56 Fait enough but if they released retrains, their effect will have to include the original names on the field or graveyard, be searchable and punish your opponent on summon. Avatar already has a pseudo floodgate effect on summon but the attack gain isn’t really doing much for it on its own. All three need targeting and non target protection as well.

Egyptian Gods in the anime: 💀💀💀😈😈😈🔴🔵🟡 Epyotian Gods in the real game: 🔴🤡 🔵💀 🟡🐥 (Obelisk is still fairly good irl) 4000 base stat, can’t target, if you have fodder he can raigeki. But, all the Egyptian gods PALE in comparison to the ULTIMATE CONDUCTOR TYRANNO!!!!! Lvl10, 35k attack, super op ability, can attack every monster at once. Bro is basically a God Card.

Really nice and interesting video! The Wicked Avatar was one of my favourite cards when i was playing in as a proffesional in official tournaments (before synchros were released). I comboed it with Gran Maju Garzett to have two beasticks in battle.

I'll raise the hierarchy subject for dreadroot's stats manipulation, since it's a higher hierarchy than normal cards, that means, it's applied last since it's the most beneficial equation from the effects, well, just imo

The Jashin are my favourite God cards. YUGIOH R was my favourite manga series, and Yako Tennma is my favourite character from the manga cannon (from duel monsters at least, Kyuji Yagumo is my favourite from Zexal). Love Keiths arc in the manga too!

Dreadroot kinda failing to counter Obelisk given that Obelisk can have infinite attack for a solid punch. Halving doesn't really mean shit in that instance.

Yugioh R is great!! I recommend it to everyone! Just to pique your interest: opponents are named after US brands of food (ie Tilla Mook), Kaiba slams the f**k out of Yako with his metallic briefcase, and Tristan and Joey do an ORA! to punch someone. 10/10 manga.

I would have loved to see what the fusion of the 3 would look like. But maybe they should get a special treatment like 3 fusions of 2 of them, it would make them more unique when compared to the other 2 god trios. Maybe fusing them by ritual summon by banishing them from the graveyard or something. Honestly, making anything related to ritual summon involving them would be fitting

The wicked dreadroot is the one that needs an errata or retrain the most. And since the wicked can canonnicaly be replicated it makes sense that they could be artificially improved with makes them technically the only "god" cards that can circunvent their own original description without affecting the lore in are retroactive way.

There's an equip spell card that is very useful for the Wicked Eraser and perfect for the Wicked Dreadroot called (SOLITARY SWORD OF POISON). Hears how it works. Equip only to a monster you control. If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, the equipped monster's ATK/DEF is doubled during damage calculation only. If you control a monster other, than the equipped monster, send this card to the GY. You can only control 1 Solitary Sword of Poison".

I do cpu vs cpu tournaments on my channel and for my reduel series i have if someone collects the 3 wicked gods, they release the dark god Reshef. Sol (yami pegasus) and Alexander (from capsule monsters are both looking to resurrect the Reshef.

YGOPRO has an alternate version of Eraser that translates the card's fluff text into its actual effect. Instead of destruction based removal, it sends all cards on the field to the GY and can be activated whenever it is sent GY, even from the deck. Imagine having a one card raigeki feather duster that can be activated with foolish or used as discard fodder 💀

The thing that really kills the fact that they won’t get any support is that a lot of Tenmas cards have been printed (Leraje, Votis, Cassimolar,) and none of them have any effect that correlate with the Gods. So yeah, outside of cards like Divine Evolution and Angel 01, they’re not getting any support anytime soon

I play wicked gods in master duel, and there are some cards that help the archetype immensly: Three eye ghost lets you search any of the three wicked gods. Spell card: "soul exchange" (the new one) lets you tribute summon (you tribute summon when the effect resolves without using your normal summon) any card using your oponents monsters. Egyptian god slime can summon any of the gods similarly to the egyptian counterparts. Using numeron is a quick and easy way to get enough tributes for the gods, and i did win more games than youd expect in gold rank.

What about Exodia? I’m a yugioh newb but doesn’t he just win? Like even if your opponent had every negate active, Exodia is a ruling win, not an effect. So…he just wins everything

You are right that exodia can’t be negated (I have a video about that actually kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqLSY6eDaM1sZ5I ) but the issue is how inconsistent it is to make him. 5 cards that do nothing by themselves in a 40 card deck means that you will have less possible cards to play with. It’s also that in modern day, playing exodia is just too inconsistent, it’s either win or bust.

3:34 True Eraser sucks. At least Osiris can be buffed with draw spells and cycle decks. Card of sanctity being an example, or any card that gives hand advantage, like dugares or literally any dark world combo. Eraser relie on your enemy having a fat combo board and not just negating your ass to the stone age

Though there is some interesting modern traps you can use to bolster its offensive abilities while simultaneously locking down your opponents board, such as Ojama trio or Nightmare Archfiends (though you run into the issue of Link monsters being means of getting rid of those nowadays.)
