THIS is a good idea and a venture that needs to be undertaken. If we can remove the need for "organic" or "traditional" beef that requires growing a cow to maturity, then we would not only be helping the environment and saving cow lives, but also the...."less liberal" goals (that is, if the idea of doing what's best for the planet and saving the lives of millions of innocent animals deeply upsets you for whatever reason) of cheaper food production, and an alternative food source for areas that are incapable of rearing livestock effectively. All in all, it's literally good for everyone on earth..........except people in the beef industry.

You can't tell by his expression and the 2nd bite he took that he, a chef, liked the taste of the burger? He can't describe it to you, go order one if you're curious.. If you watched the video and understood what they said about heme iron, you'd understand that it tastes A LOT like real meat, since the thing that tastes good in meat is the heme iron, and not actually the meat itself. As long as it is tested safe for consumption sure, but for me the biggest question that i don't think i heard asked and or answered, is that does/what nutritional value does it have in comparison to meat? Is it the same in that regards? Or is it completely different? If it isn't the perfect substitute that is every way the same (maby healthier tho) people aren't going to accept it. I'd be happy to have it, tho i don't think this is a cover all bases of meat solution so integration into our diets along with less meat may be were this sits.
@18617s7 жыл бұрын
Willow4526 it's already being sold in stores so it is safe for consumption. Also we don't need meat to have a healthy balanced diet and this option is loads better for the environment than a meat burger

Sofi something being sold in stores isn't a sign its 'safe' for people to eat. As long as there has been efficient tests insuring it's safe is all i care about. Also I'm not getting into this whole dietary/environment argument.... especially when half of it from all sides is a load of crock.

The thing is, these days you can pretty much get cancer from anything. Hell, you don't even have to eat meat to even be at risk. Just be born into a family with a history of cancer. edit: Made first sentence less redundant, by taking out the second "these days."
@globbenderglob36097 жыл бұрын
benejack666 yes, you can believe me(!) every time, every single time I told people how cancerous meat is, they say exactly this. yes you always have that risk these days, but by eating meat you increase it enormously! you may as well smoke seven cigarettes instead of eating meat for lunch. meat these days just has a lot of unhealthy things in it, but I always try to leave it to the people to inform themselves and to decide about their health (although meat eating effects others too, e.g. it badly effects the health system) many people I know care for cancerous things, but suddenly don't when it comes to meat. that's my experience. and they should just stop searching for unhealthy things in these new products that try to improve the world (that would decrease the destruction of the environment, killing of animals, improve people' health, e.t.c..) when they actually never informed themselves about what they are eating right now and acutally never cared about not eating cancerous things.
