Ronnie, thanks so much for reading my story. I wrote this one many years ago, and there's actually a longer version which hints at the origins of the creature, but I only left some of those strands in the finished draft. The old factory where the creature lives is a real place that I encountered one night in Scotland, walking along a trail. It was an old power station and I remembered looking at it and instinctively feeling like I should keep my distance. I was certain I was being watched. In any case, a brilliant performance as always. You're one of the best out there. I really appreciate you taking the time, and hope to get those exclusive stories to you I promised many moons ago! I hope all is well. ~ Mike

I have this saying, that not every great story is something original and grandiose. Sometimes it is an old idea, a simple story, but handled with such care that it shines above others of its kind. This, is definitely one of those stories, one of my favorites- despite all things. And your narration added so much to the experience. The sound design in this one was particularly immersive, really helped increase the dread and suspense, I was honestly impressed. And your of course voice work was excellent like always. 😊

The sound was perfect. I live in the country where we have all kinds of critters that come into our yard. My dogs trapped something under the house once, and I came out to see what it was. I sent the dogs inside, and for over an hour, I could hear what sounded like water escaping from a hose or pipe. My first thought was a rattle snake, but I'd heard them before, and there wasn't a true rattle sound. Truly sounded like water. I spent a lot of time searching. Finally, it was just dark enough for my flashlight to show more. I finally saw a large body of the snake. I was on my knees, head down near the ground to where my hair was lying on the ground. I looked up only to realize the body I saw was only half of the snake. The other half was right beside my head. The part with the fangs and eyes staring at me was less than 1 foot away. That was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. I managed to get up, and I shot it. The rattlesnake was 5.5 feet long. The part under the house was so large that I thought it was curled up trying to hide. I never thought there was more of it.

There is so much detail about what Jones is thinking but the whole time I'm internally screaming "what happened to the Chinese food he was delivering?!". He drove to an abandoned factory... Why? It didn't say anything about him leaving the food for a lone night guard. It's the whole reason he's in the road, the damn sociopath, and the story doesn't tell me where the food went. I'm gonna be wondering all day.

Really good creature horror story. The sound design was really well done, both the sounds of the creature and the music. When he discovers the thing in the wheel-well, the tension conveyed thru the soundtrack is on point. The end tho, when he is attacked just as he makes it outside and lays there dying, this is THE SHIT. That music is fucking awesome. The high drone gives anxiety, the strings have incredible weight, and every time the sub hits it drives this darkness into your bones. Altogether, the music in this scene feels existentially like something absolutely brutal and most irrevocably final.

Now that was some good old fashioned body horror. And like you said I was hoping he would get what's coming to him. Lovely story as always. For the sound it was awesome for the most part. The mic upgrade really helps bring out your voice, just be careful with the s, t, p and st sounds. Thanks to that upgrade in mic quality you bombed those sounds a touch. Not to bad just enough to be noticeable with a set of headphones on. For the extra mixing loved it. The sounds help raise the tension in a story as you said didn't have that much. For listening quality the walking on gravel sound could be turned down a touch. It didn't over power your voice but was just loud enough to be distracting. The one part where the sound effects did over power your voice was when the creature hit Jones in the face and it was hard to hear what you said. Not sure if that was a choice to appease the KZbin algorithm or not but it was hard to hear you in that spot. Anyway a great story as always, and I hope my thoughts on the new mic and mixing helped. This is a very cold take but I actually really liked the jumpscare near the end. I expected some horrible closing accident but the suddenness of it really boosted the spook factor up! Even if it did nearly make me slip on ice on the way to work, hahah!

This was rally good. The sound design was AMAZING. And I liked that it was open ended and weird rather than over-explaining the monster.

A quaint little story that came out of nowhere. Loved it!

Microphone sounds amazing. Great narration as always, and the story was super solid and very neat. Main character was kinda twisted and probably deserved it imo

A guy with a politics degree who thinks that wildlife is vermin deserves to be eaten by a giant frog. I hope so much that giant frog appears in this story!

The mic is great. It really accentuates the timber in your voice. The performance worked well.

I feel as though you’re somewhat… louder; In the sense that I can hear even more detail in your voice. I think it’s a step up for sure! Adds to the immersion.

My man! Love the new mic. Personal opinion tells me to take out A LITTLE 100hz but that’s just personal taste. Killer quality as always

Audio sounds great! First time commenting, however I have been a fan of your Channel since I was in college. Now working I drive a lot so thank you for giving us something to pass the time. If possible I’d love to hear a story from an apocalyptic type world. Zombies and all that jazz, anyways. Thank you for all you do!

As a deer I am incredibly offended at being called vermin by someone named “jones”. The audacity of such a generic name.
@dustygardendormouse11 ай бұрын
literally. as a mouse i personally find vermin to be a compliment (not to invalidate your being upset, you have every right to be! and well yeah you’re not a mouse so i see why you’d feel hurt)! but this “jones” character turning it into a derogatory term really just screams insecurity about himself being a basic btch to me. unbelievable >:(

Love your work! As far as the new mic goes theres a little bit of a whistle tone, i feel like just throwing a low pass filter on would do the trick but not sure. (Its worth noting that im listening on a phone speaker so the higher frequencies are gonna be a little harsher) Not sure if you're using a pop filter or not but i definitely reccomend one, also you might benefit from a DeEsser plugin if you have to one. I'm being nitpicky tho, the new mic does sound great!

You also might get a bit clearer of a sound if you turn the gain on the mic down and raise the volume in post through the compressor and whatnot. Using a preamp can also help with this. (I'm no expert tho, I just know a very small bit about mics and stuff lol)

I knew I recognised this story as soon as I heard the 'Scoring system' This was narrated by the Horror Hill series awhile back. Nevertheless I still listened till the end and loved it. Excellent narration, music and sound effects. Speaking of Horror Hill, you should try the story in Season 1 Episode 1 "Contractions" by Kevin David Anderson. This is for the lovers of Cosmic Horror. Would love to see how you would narrate this, if you choose to do so. Great content as usual. Keep it up!
