My boyfriend was just like, "Can I help you???" And he responded, "Uh, yeah, I'm the inspector. Is your landlord around?" Stupidest excuse because an actual inspector came a month previously and they only show up every few years. He left after my bf said no and we were just so confused. XD

i watched this movie for the first time when i was like 10?? so it was 2011 or so, quite a while ago by teenage standards. doesn't matter how long i go though between watching this movie or seeing recaps, there's one line that sticks with me. "why are you doing this?" "because you were home." that's always haunted me, it just drives home how random and senseless all of this is. it was a source of paranoia for months afterward, and as my mom says, "it just proves that it could have been anyone and that's the point of the line, to make you paranoid and imagine yourself in the situation. it's really effective from a psychological horror standpoint."

What's crazy is that in 2011, you were an innocent 10 year old child being creeped out by this movie but in 2011, I was 19 years old, newly wed with a newborn baby.... it's just surreal looking at what others were doing at that time! The similarities to the movie events and events that the director based it on are that a stranger would knock on a door asking for a made up person. Dead Meat wasn't so much a quote as it was a bit from the Tommy Wisou stumbling through a toy store. I freaked a bit cause I dont think he even knew what he was referencing

I lived in the country and The Strangers freaked the hell out of me as I watched it late at night. Very few movies have ever gotten to me like that. I had the windows open because it was summer and so every sound outside concerned me for about 30 minutes after I finished the film.

Even though this is an old kill count, I just want to thank you for having comforted The strangers is one of the scariest movies ever to me because of the fact that it really could happen. I know Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers aren't real but random people who just want to kill for sport are. Liv and Scott were excellent in their roles this will always be one of my favorite scary movies

"That's how you spook an audience without using jump scares" - Uses a jumpscare 10 seconds later
@AthenisKS815 жыл бұрын
I think it's more that it isn't a cheap jump scare that relies entirely on something that isn't on the screen, like a loud music sting when there's not actually something to be scared of. The movie definitely has some of those, but the scares mostly feel like genuine jump scares and not (literally) orchestrated.

Always been one of my favorite horror movies ever. One of the few that actually ever scared me. And it has everything to do with how realistic it all feels. Love that both the killers and victims are intelligent enough to make all the right moves. Always have said, if I wanted to murder someone in this way, you've gotta take out the phones and vehicles first.
