An absolutely incredible player, certainly at the British Level, which whilst not amazing isn't nearly as poor as you would imagine for how niche the sport is over here. I've no doubt that with NHL full-time coaching and much better quality players around him he could have easily been considered one of the better players in NHL history. Tony Hand is 1 of many players to choose their home country over the NHL, some did it later in their career like Kovalchuk, Radulov, Ziggy Palffy, and even Jaromir Jagr CHOSE to go back overseas and play, many guys did it. Palffy and Kovalchuk would have been easily hall of famers if they played full NHL careers, both had over a point per game with also a great goals per game when they left (yes Kovalchuk did come back but didnt do a lot but his goals per game was insane, and he played on ATLANTA the worst team in the league when he was doing it) And Jagr, well he is 2nd all time on points but, had he not had 1. the 04 05 lockout and 2. the 3 seasons he chose to leave after 08... he would easily have over 2000 points, and be the 2nd player to do so. Hes still the 2nd player at 1900 points but, IDK, 2000 woulda felt more special.
