The Kathol Rift. The space that drives you insane. Entering it is the easy part. Navigating the rift is a lot more difficult than you expect. Once inside, you will start to see things that aren't real and it can draw out some of your deepest fears. Even Jedi could have a very difficult time trying to keep themselves together

Heh, reminds me of the time my Mando bounty hunter/mercenary OC got stuck on the far side of Hyperspace when his ship's hyperdrive broke. To quote him: "Weird doesn't do it justice. Imagine waking up every morning for half a standard month and all you can see past the viewscreens are black stars in a white void that's almost empty except for broken and long derelict ships adrift amongst asteroids that are still crewed by whatever remains of those aboard. I got lucky and ended up finding an abandoned station cobbled together out of dead starships and asteroids, managed to find the parts to fix my hyperdrive and leave... But what troubles me the most about that station is whoever put it together didn't leave by choice... Something attacked that station and took the folks who were aboard it... I hope they went out fighting to the last."

This 1000% sounds like that episode of Love Death and Robots, Beyond the Aquila Rift. KZbin that shit if you haven't watched it, horrificly uhmazing

@Zooropa1310 I've seen that, and I was talking about Otherspace. A dimension/universe that exists on the other side of Hyperspace where space is white with black stars and there's an aggressive species of spider people who literally live in a fanatical society based around death cult. I hope that maybe @geetslys reads this and makes the next smuggler's tales video on Otherspace, and he'd have my permission to use my character quote for it.

Which makes me wonder if they may be descended from the ones that survived the warp gate explosion? Maybe the blast when that thing overloaded flung some of them all the way into Otherspace?

Agreed. The Warp is way worse than the Kathol Rift. And even if the Gellar field is still working, warp travel is still extremely dangerous

@@brother_bear_one7340 and after reading about what awaits you when you travel there or if you get trapped in there, I think it would be better to die rather than survive. And yet the Imperium of Man needs the Warp and the astronomicon. The way it was described by a character that I don't remember the name of went like this: "the warp is our greatest gift and is also our greatest threat. It is curse and boon. Hope and terror. A raging Inferno through which we must plunge or else be lost."

Wait, it takes weeks to reach the Rift with Hyperspace, is that because of all the space anomalies, or is Hyperspace a lot slower than it looks, because it doesn't seem like traveling through Hyperspace takes too long in the Movies and TV Shows, even from going one end of the galaxy to the next? For example, in Season 4 of the Clone Wars during the Battle of Mon Cala, Obi-Wan pointed out that their friends trapped on the planet would have days to wait for Clone Scuba Troopers to either be trained or be equipped and assembled to go and aid them, so they asked the Gungan for help. So it's implied it only took the Gungans a couple hours maybe a whole day at most to arrive on Mon Cala to join the battle. And I doubt there was just a Venator already stationed on Naboo that could transport them, the ship had to be coming from somewhere else. Now it's unknown if it was Courscant or some planet closer, but still, there was a bit of time to travel to get to Naboo, then the ship would have to land to load all the Gungans in, which would take some time considering the sheer number that would be getting onboard, then a few minutes to take off and leave the planet before jumping to Hyperspace again to go to Mon Cala, and Naboo is decently in the Mid-Rim while Mon Cala is all the way in the Outer Rim, and not early in the Outer Rim it's all the way at the end of it in Sector 12, close to the nebula that separates Kamino from the regular galaxy, and yet despite all that, having to go to Naboo first, the time to load the troops and then the time to go from Naboo to Mon Cala, it's implied it didn't take more then a few hours or a day at most. So Hyperspace doesn't seem like it should take to long, as long as the ship's Hyperdrive is working properly and not damaged and in need of repairs.

The speed of hyperspace travel is largely dependent on the route being traveled. Developed planets with strong interstellar trade activity usually have direct and well-mapped hyperlanes connecting to other developed planets, and "hyperspace highways" such as the Corellian Run and Hydian way link numerous worlds across the most populous areas of the galaxy. But in lesser-known or unknown space, those routes are often a lot less direct, poorly charted, confusing to navigate, and/or interrupted by various hazards that must be circumvented by dropping out of hyperspace. All these factors make traveling outside of the established hyperlane network very slow and risky, which is part of why smugglers are always looking for any shortcut they can find.
