An underrated era of this band. I love the sound this album carries. Wish they had included more songs here…

You think? The vocal melodies, the drums and bpm are completely different, the guitar part is a bit similar, but I'm not sure about that. I read they recorded 18 demos for Angles, and 10 songs were released. You can hear 'Slow Animals' from Comedown Machine in the "Making of Angles" videos, so there are still 7 unreleased demos and I think this is one of those 7. Also, "Life in Simple in the Moonlight" was the only song that survived from the early album sessions with producer Joe Chiccarelli, then they continued recording with Gus Oberg, the guy you can see here sitting at the mixing board, so I don't think they went back and worked on the only song they liked from the Chiccarelli sessions.

@@akaNandyI revisited this subject today reading about this subject after years of being curious about it. I think you are correct. Though oddly, Slow Animals is another track that sounds a LOT like Moonlight, if I hadn't looked into it I'd assume one could have been a demo version of the other. The drums also sound like 2 kinds of happiness As someone who doesn't exactly love the finished version of Angles I've really wanted to hear what that batch sounded like. I like the album for nostalgia when it came out and stuff but I think it would be better with more tracks. I actually like comedown machine for that reason, because it expands upon that style they tapped into.
