I think he means in the sense of having it/her. Think of it like window shopping, he likes what he sees but he knows he's probably better off not cashing in, which is why he chooses, to want from afar than to actually have it/her? Or like an aesthetic, good looks from the outside[window] but a piece of hot trash on the inside[door] could be could not be, that's just how I see it.
@jacobiskandermusic4 жыл бұрын
I interpret it similar to what JAWKNEE said ^ if someone would be better off as a door, then you would enter the door to dive into that person. If someone is better as a window, then you want to glance into their person from afar and not enter

You're not the same anymore Don't wanna play that game anymore You'd make a better window, than a door Oh, the strangers they implore It gets so easy to ignore Just like the girl next door Uncle's house, it was noon Sorry boy, I can't employ ya You are strange, but I like you Sorry, this is overdue I promised I would do it right Her and a boy on a Saturday night And now the door slams shut A child prisoner grows up To seek his enemy's throat cut We're on the way, fuel the jet Can see that what he wants, he gets What does your sworn enemy regret? I didn't know, I didn't care I don't even understand Did something wrong, I wasn't sure Stay on top of this, or else I was afraid, I fucked up, yeah yeah yeah I couldn't change, it's too late And now it's time to show up Late again, I can't grow up And now it's on me, they've given up Uncle's house, I forget Violent tendencies I get Your timing sucks, she went overboard Don't forget, you are insured I didn't know, I wasn't sure Can't remember all that well I couldn't change, was too late, yeah yeah yeah

Poniendo el video a velocidad 1.25 o 1.5 en el coro si ayuda a escucharlo casi igual que You talk way too much!

This bass outro that Nikolai plays here instantly reminded me of the Twin Peaks theme melody. So good!

This album makes me feel nostalgic about something that I just don't know what is. So f! good.

I don’t know why, but I can’t get over the thought that this would make a great Bond theme song.

I was 19 when "Is This It" took the world by storm, including myself as an impressionable young man. Now I'm 38 and am not easily moved by music anymore. However, this song (and album) are really hitting me in just the right way, nostalgically, mentally and emotionally. It's really helped my mentality during the COVID era.

The ending of this song sounds like secular music, almost sacred, like a prayer.
