@@alexlorincz9912 very difficult to put up a 2430lbs total raw total and get an ifbb pro card. Mitch who is a fellow Barrie Ontarian has an official power lifting total of 1829.8lbs. Definitely a great Strongman.. but ridiculous to say that what Kyle has put up isn't impressive as a bodybuilder. Would be interesting to see what Mitch could do as a powerlifter now but im not going to hate on any of these guys.

Yes I agree , he did a lot of heavy training consistently in his dieting down phase , it is definitely something to consider , less water around the joints , and hardly any glycogen stores to give explosive quick energy . Also as mentioned earlier he did these lifts consistently. So for most of us he is the strongest

Dallas was the epitome of your Lift Heavy Be Kind lifestyle. I think he could have won Olympia if he had two more years. A good man taken from us all too soon. I miss him.

Dallas had a very big heart. According to his autopsy he had a 833g heart (average weight is 300g). Even Rich Piana's was "only" 670g.

Stan Efferding at 275 squatted 865 raw with wraps, and 854 raw with sleeves. He benched 606 raw, and deadlifted 837 and totallef 2304. All his lifts were officially done in competition.

@@tonynilsson3765 but he won overall at the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic in California in Feb 2023 in Classic Physique. He came in second at the 2023 Amateur Olympia Men's Classic Physique. Had he won, he would have gotten an IFBB pro card. Seems to make him a bodybuilder. As much as Ronnie Coleman was a powerlifter (he competed in 4 deadlift only meets). Larry ranks 72 all time, while Stan ranks 114 by DOTS, and 29 and 57 respectively, by total. Their BW when they made their best totals were within 9 pounds of each other (283.6 for Larry, 274.7 for Stan).

Mitch, great video. I grew up close to Dallas and I use to work with a lady he was dating so I remember his death like it was yesterday. Dallas actually died a while ago back in 2017.

What a lot of people seem to forget about Ronnie is that he was knocking on the door of world record squat/deadlift numbers at the time of his peak right before he was stage ready. I don’t think we’ve had a bodybuilder since then that is pulling and squatting 1000+ just a few weeks out from a show.

Dallas McCarver was rumoured to have deadlifted 820lb x 2 reps but was never recorded. He was ahead of his game at 26. FREAK of nature left his benchmark 💪

Definitely James up there. 660 for 10 on the squat with knee sleeves and I think he's benched 5 plates for 4 or 5 reps.

@ it’s the control James has on his squats that’s particularly revolting. Seen him do 7 plates (340kg/750ishlb) with elevated heels, vertical torso and controlled eccentrics for multiple reps. Reminiscent of Eddie back in his heyday.

They're not reliable for anyone until you can personally confirm that they are for you. People vary a lot in how their rep work translates to singles.

Here's all the mental steps required to reach the conclusion in the video, numbered for clarity: You are 1)adding a hypothetical 100lbs to someone's 2) already completely hypothetical total (e1rm is not reliably accurate at all) based on lifts that aren't even done in a competition, i.e. to 3) comp standards (especially bench) or 4) in succession to one another with 5) (usually) nine total attempts as would be the case in a competition.

I'd say ronnie still edges out in his own ways over dallas. Like ronnie 2300 pounds leg press for reps only really being matched by eddie hall. Ronnie also makes a consistant statment that his biggest regret is only doing 2 reps on the 800 pound squat, showing he was far from failure in his own eyes...I'm surprised Larry Wheels isn't brought up for strongest body builder, as he did do body building.

I think you are right. Not to mention look at Dallas's condition during these lifts he ripped and his waist is tiny. Power lifters are not in this kind of condition not to mention how many sets have been done with this kinda of weights. I believe Dallas is and would have gone down in history as one of the greatest of all time. I believe he accomplished just that

I think it's bizarre that we've come to hold up bodybuilders as the benchmark of human health and beauty. We're talking about a man who is crippled before his time versus a man who died before his time. They both had amazing accomplishments, absolutely, but we need some serious recalibration and redefinition of what we want to present to our youth as ultimate gym goals. Assuming, of course, that we would wish for our children to be healthy and long-lived.

What I'm wondering is, what would his numbers be without the 30+ banned substances found in his system and the order to the supplier? A strong desire and search to be the best, led him into bodybuilding astray like many others before him. Where he became a walking laboratory. The image of Dallas is too romanticized, especially in the eyes of many young people. He made up for his lack of talent to be the best with a powerful drug that is (in)directly responsible for his premature death.
