I would give Squala more credit here. Having control over so many dogs to the point where they can do works that a dog is not supposed to do (room service??) should at least be a C-tier manipulation. I mean, I don’t think Ponzu does anything particularly better in terms of manipulation than him.

I wonder how his ability could evolve, the most obvious ways is him being able to use Raflesia through his floating hands, or him gaining extra floating hands. But... Limiting the amount of area that activates his ability helps make his ability stronger, so I'm not even sure if he can add Raflesia to extra hands, unless he makes it so he can switch which one has the ability, which would probably need to have a marking to indicate it. So while he could definitely/potential make more hands (as in he could change the ability to make more, but not randomly - I know those two words sound contradictory), it's a conjuration ability, so increasing it might not be prefered compared to improving his manipulation. Maybe the improvement would be adding a different manipulation ability to his floating hands or make use of emission through them, Hotel Raflesia already uses emission to send parts to the cage, and we know from Bisky that improving the categories next to your affinity helps you master your main as well. Or maybe even, and he might already be able to do this, he can touch himself and send himself to the cage for some reason, what if this could also be used to teleport himself back to one of his hands. Hell, he might be able to use the hands to gather intel, maybe conjure an eye on one.

A few months late but lemme explain from my own understanding Ikalgo is an Enhancer the same way as Porcupine. The Shadow Beast who fought Uvogin. Where Porcupine can use Enhancement to manipulate his body hair, Ikalgo can manipulate his body with Nen to turn it into a gun and a bullet. As for the corpse control, it's merely an aspect of being a chimera-ant. More akin to a parasite rather than an octopus

enhancers are good healers. I think Ikalgo is basically reanimating the nerves and muscles of the corpse and that's why he can use the hatsu of that corpse; that and the fact that there's some aura left in the lifeless body, just as a part of a person's aura is imprinted into personal objects.

Squala deserves the C tier, he can use Dogs as simple workers, chasers, and guards with the ability to detect presence, tracking down escapees or checking poison on food. You can't find flexible abilities like that to any amateur nen user or even the shadow beast members

My personal head cannon about Milluki is that when Ging met Beyond's dark continent team and Ging saw the robot doll stating that it was the strongest in the room, that is Milluki and his nen ability. I just think it would be neat to have him back in the story somehow and given his obsession for dolls I don't think it's too crazy to think he could manipulate robot anime dolls.

I believe the ability to manipulate animals and bugs can extremely powerful IF a manipulator is able to unlock the aura of those creatures. They could potentially have to power to utilize multiple nen abilities at once, or have them work in conjunction to make a strong symbiotic type ability.

I think to really understand Manipulation, you have to think of it as a progamming. Most manipulators seems to progam the mind of others to do their will, some progam bodies to alter the appereance. However there is a type of manipulation we don't see often, aura progamming, its mentioned that forcing the target to zetsu its advanced manipulation, thats how Pouf can grant nen abilities he progam the aura.

i think its unfair to remove Ikalgo, while his main category is Enhancement, according to Togashi, that doesn't mean his ability isn't based in manipulation. if you ask me that makes him a Nen manipulator, even if he isn't being efficient about it

That doesn't even make any sense. He doesn't turn his nen into quills, he turns his body hair into quills, and changes it to soft or hard. That's basically enhancement, being extremely similar to what Palm did with her hair to make the Black Widow armor.

Transmutation can make your aura sharper and more springy, hince helping with his spikes, that's the only reason I can think, but honestly you can really be doing more with it, especially since manipulating your hair is not a bad ability at all.

I still believe that Morel is a top manipulator despite his ability being mostly utilitarian. Pouf admitted that Morel can defeat him inside jailhouse rock when he cloned himself to thousand smaller pieces to slip out of jailhouse ability. He said that Morel didn't know that his original body can't be as small as the the other lesser clones so it won't be able to slip out unlike his other clones and this body can be easily crushed by Morel. Morel released his ability because pouf injected doubt in his mind that his students might not survive an attack by pouf's small clones.

Sharnalk's controlling is the best one in the show since the targets keep their original personalities and you couldn't even tell that they're being controlled and they can perform complicated tasts, illumi can control multiple people but they turn into zombies and in order for him to make them do a complex task while "keeping their personality" he would need to stick a dozen needles in their head like he did with the 10 dons. Basically the more needles the more control he has, one needle can't do much it can just give strong thoughts if it's placed in a strategic spot (like killua with his head needle) but in battle the target can just remove it especially if he knows where it is. So i would say sharnalk's ability is way more practice in battle

When i took the nen test a few times i got specialist once and manipulator three times. So i decided to go down a different route and work with water manipulation. In all its various states, tho only within a 5 foot radius of projected En, and even blood of people if I can touch them and focus a Ko into the contact point. At least thats the general/basics of the idea

Transmutation users have unique attitudes, and many are regarded as weirdos or tricksters. Often they put forth a facade while hiding the truer aspects of their personalities. Even when they don't hide their personalities they rarely reveal their true intentions. Many Transmuters rely on techniques that give unique and unpredictable properties to their Nen that reflects their personalities. ● 3- Emitters are impatient, not detail-oriented, and quick to react in a volatile manner. Many of them are quick-tempered and hot-blooded. They resemble the Enhancers in building their impulsivity, but the difference with them, they probably tend to calm down and forget easier. Because of the nature of Emission, many Hatsu techniques created by emitters are primarily long range. ● 4- Conjurers are typically high-strung or overly serious and stoic. I do have to say that i have like 6 restrictions. Also i have a suicidal self destructive hatsu that use my own body as vessel and use my own life to seal others users. So yeah. how did the shalnark who can only control 2 people stay on S while the morel who has countless uses with smoke stayed on A??? 🙃🙃🙃 morel can make more than 50 smoke soldiers, can make an unbreakable chain of smoke, can camouflage, can make clones of smoke and even imitate the texture of other things (like grass) in a way very similar to the surprise texture of hisoka... of course the shalnark has the autopilot, but we don't know how powerful this form is the shal doesn't even become conscious while using it... shoot on C is bizarre too, morel explains that his ability works like hit and run... the man with a crushed leg, managed to survive alone for a brief moment against a royal guard who was his natural counter, hotel rafflesia is far superior to everything in tier c

If I had been manipulator I would try to have nen ability that let's me control carbon. With it I could do many useful stuff. 1: Create diamonds for money 2: Gather carbon in the air around someone to make enemies unable to breath 3. Use carbon dust for creating shield, swords , shooting carbon shards, etc. 4. I could make my air cleaner. Most used ability would be use of carbon dust, to create shields and attacks with it, when assassinating I could force tons of carbon into someone or simply fill the area around them with it and If I wanted to make some money I could work as carbon capture or by making diamonds/coal And If I wanted to strengthen this ability by giving it limitation I could make it so I can only manipulate carbon that I breath out, so I could slowly accumulate this carbon and use whenever I need it. Or simply give it range limitation , or limit it to the carbon that is inside CO2, so it would take C out of it and I would only use that carbon.

I actually think the kissing power is a very good usage of manipulator powers. It has a simple yet difficult to fulfill condition in habing to kiss someone, but the reward is immense. Not every fight is fought in classic combative 1v1. Playing the long game is also a viable strategy when beating your opponent. For example, she could make a mass army of love slaves, that do her every bitting. She could also entrance a power house if she gets really close to you. Like, you could assume the role of an everyday person, go in a date with a nen master and just pretend and when you finally make out - BAM love slave. Underrated, though there are obviously better applications for manipulation.

Have you ever thought about this theory of what Ging Hatsu is? I believe it’s similar to Melerons ability Ging can compeltely erase his presence. Kite was basically describing the fact that he completely erased his presence, Killua says “like a super powered form of zesty”. Now I’m connecting the dots but that’s why Gon learned Zetsu naturally. I’m sure there’s conditions to the power but I believe it’s some form of erasing presence in battle and on the hunt. Where he can disappear from data bases peoples memories if he chooses and more

100% disagree with Morel being A. I would say he has the best manipulation technique in Hunter so far and was able to use his smoke so well. Illumi is probs a stronger character, but id say Morel can do much more manipulation with his technique more than Illumi.
