Hicks has great technique & form, but Thor is just a huge unit, with lots of experience. I hope they both do it.

Graham could bring the record back to England. Hes been working on it since his last attempt which he did get off the floor. But and this is a big but, he wont hold it long. Thor could do 505 raw. What he could do with the suit is anyones guess but I wouldnt be surprised if he pulled a 520 with the suit. Shame we wont find out at the coming event.

Just on an emotional level I always root for Ivan. That's been like his life's goal for so long now it's almost like he deserves to get it. Plus he recently pulled 512kg off of 2" blocks raw and it was FAST. If he can just get everything lined up in prep I think he can do it.

I'd love to see Graham pull it, I think he showed us what he's made of last year by pulling 470 3 weeks after a hamstring tear and Im confident he's got the 505 in him if everything comes together on the day

Keep in mind that peaking is a thing. Gym lifts weeks or months out may not be indicative of how they'll be on the day of.

I think you guys have dismissed some amazing athletes who has good shot at 505. 1.Rauno Heinla - Yes he is getting old, but last year he had an attempt at 505 and pulled it off the ground, he's been working on his deadlift and I think he will surprise a lot of people, he is heavier compare to when he pulled 475 at 129kg body weight 2 years ago. 2. Ivan Makarov - we've seen him multiple times attempting this, he's only in it for the deadlift so he will put all his effort in that one event unlike others, this might be the year he completes the lockout, a lot of people will love to see that. I think Hicks might eventually do it, but not this year based on his training videos. God bless, keep pushing the good content.

A 500kg deadlift in it's self is insane. Thors record was set at home so imo it's not a real record. It has to be set at a show with propper judges but even getting a 506kg deadlift is so incredibly hard I don't think anyone will touch it for a few years.

Right…and Thor didn’t have a proper referee either and he didn’t weigh all his plates. Some chump called Magnus was the referee. Eddie did it under really strict rules too! He didn’t get to set the delays between attempts, and he didn’t use his own bar or anything like that. Also, Thor’s record is definitely not recognized.

Give 505 a rest. Next deadlift championship go for 400kg maximum repetitions! Get some excitement into it again. Hicks will not do 505.

You guys give too many points away by not concentrating on deadlifting. Only 5 events and you two need to be completing for a win in the deadlift. Because of the above it will be a long shot for either to make the podium.

Sorry but I have to agree with Eddie that the 501 record doesn’t count. It was in his personal gym, we don’t know who weighed the plates, and it is just 1 kg heavier than Eddie’s which is ridiculous since it’s only 0,2 %

The whole weighing was on camera, live streamed and Magnus was there to verify the entire process. The weights were calibrated plates too. All weighed livestream.
