Amazing win Ed. The taking a crown from Rohan Dennis is cool and must feel great, but knowing what amazing form you're in and how your hard work is paying off must be the real sweet reward here. Shorter efforts now, bring on Winnats

Hit that like button, PLEASE😘 I'll remember this day for a long time. The video gives you an insight in to the 24hrs leading up to the iwoca Struggle Hill Climb win, new course record and taking a Strava KOM from Rohan Dennis. Yes, I couldn't believe it either!!! Sit back, relax and enjoy!! p.s. I'd like to mention that I am fully aware that these Pro athletes set these times up the Struggle after 4hrs of racing on stage 2 of the Tour of Britain. HOWEVER, I would counter that by saying that these guys are the best of the best and ARE capable of very little difference in peak power in efforts even after hours of racing. That’s what makes them good at what they do and paid to do what they do. I've been there, done that, and even got a cheap t-shirt. Perspective is needed, of course :)

I'd still say that it's more than well-deserved. :) We need more Charlie debriefs! Have you seen the 3D camera thingy that Chris Pritch has worn attached to his helmet lately? Maybe Charlie can wear one of those in the future? haha ;P Kudos to Rohan Dennis for being a good sport and commenting on Instagram too. :)

Hey! Well my go to is driven a little by science and a bit from experience. You want to prime the aerobic side of things especially for longer hill climbs. So 20min of riding with 2x2mim at 105-110%FTP should get you going

Yes, but perspective is needed here. They are that fit that their fresh peak numbers are similar to their fatigued numbers. I’ve been there and raced these races. I once used to train to be able to do what they do, and when you do it you get an appreciation for how demanding it is😁

don't count your self short you could be one of the best punchers in the world if you could do anywhere near what your doing on these climbs in a full blown race. But endurance in professional cycling is not just Ftp related there are many factors that make a top level cyclist. If you can find a way into the national road championships and have a good race there get in a breakaway so they have to chase you word of mouth may get you a contract i cant see too many cyclist catch you in those 10-15 min efforts. It would suck if Great Brittan only allowed top elite cyclist in there championship im not sure.

Your last sentence is unfortunately true. However I have been lucky enough to race as a ‘Pro’ between 2012 - 2019 and know excatly what you mean. I had the privalidge of being team leader in some hilly one day and stage races in the Tour of Japan, Korea and Portugal to name a few. I was amoungst the top climbers then but wasn’t as strong then as I am now
