i think a small, light offroad capable trailer will make things much easier, just to hold all the bulky stuff.
@offtrackfamily4 ай бұрын
It would certainly make it easier for storing our stuff but it would also be a hassle in different everyday life situations being offgrid or even in cities.

we have had that happen to us, breaking the awning. now we have a stand-alone 270 awning that is put out in less than a minute. it is a life changer. because it is a no-brainer if you stop for lunch, you put the awning out or in very easily. See you when you get to Colombia

So very brave of you all but what an adventure. Some days will be hard, some days will be amazing but definitely something you will look back and cherish in the years to come. If you ever head near to Pittsburgh Pennslyvania USA let me know and we'll organize a Land Rover gathering and a cook out for you all. (Also if you just want a comfy bed and a warm shower we have that too)

I had adventures on vacation (overland if you want to call it) in which I had to move all the stuff to the front seats to allow for 2 sleeping inside and have 2 sleeping in a RTT every night. I believe I could endure that for a month or two in "vacation mode". I don't see myself doing that full time like you're starting. Good luck and enjoy. PS: you should get a self-standing awning regardless if you stow it for the night or not.
@offtrackfamily4 ай бұрын
It is the game of traveling with only a car size 4x4 and we’ll see overtime how we handle it because as you say when in « vacation mode » you know there’s an end to the hassle so it might make it easier to handle.

A small utility trailer with a rooftop tent on it might save you a lot of effort that is if you feel it is needed. That also means a lot of extra planning.
