I have plenty of nice camping on my land in SE Minnesota, by the Mississippi River. You are welcome any time--I will take you sailing. . . .

Hello. Greetings from Paris ! I own a defender 90 Td5 as a second car. Never been able to high rev it and up shift quickly like a Golf or a sport car. The gearbox doesn’t like it and blocks or grind the agressive up shift. Especially 1 to 2d, 2 to 3d. If I up shift slowly on low revs, everything is smooth. Gearbox oil is MTF94. Many thx for your feedbacks. Merci ! Julien

The east coast is pretty crowded and can be a little hard to find a place to park. Truck stop’s are about it. Just stay safe. I’m over here in Mi. Just below the bridge and we’re all ready getting rain snow mix.

It seems pretty crowded and makes it a little more difficult to stop overnight but still has some public land to enjoy disperse camping. Happy to be more south as weather is crazy nice and warm :)

If you plan to say in the US, you don't want to be in the eastern part of the US. Come out west, particularly the Southwest. The West has many places to camp, all over the place. Lot's of public land. Arizona is the place to be in the winter. Mild temperatures and dispersed camping everywhere. If you happen to come to AZ, I'd be happy to show you some places you can camp.

You are gonna find hard to boondock on the east coast of the U.S. As we said before we’re in Alabama near Tennessee…….stop in.

East coast is kind of ok more towards the center and not the coast

Ahhh… now it makes sense. Like many viewers, I had assumed you were staying in Canada for the winter lol. Was thinking that, ummm, that’s a really BAD idea for living out of a vehicle. Glad to see you’re going to escape the cold and head south for the winter 👌
@offtrackfamily2 ай бұрын
Yes, we’re off to warmer weather as the northern winters might be too much to live out of a 4x4 😄

Great vid. The harsh reality of van life in the USA, or anywhere really. Getting moved on by the police. It’s too easy to get drawn in by other you tubers living on the road in the USA to think that free park ups are in abundance and stealth camping is problem free. I follow you tubers like bob wells and others, and they hardly ever film themselves getting hassled and moved on by the police. Here in the england the government has made it clear that it does not encourage wild camping and it is technically illegal to park up on any public places overnight and the police can, in theory, move you on, or even arrest you, if they feel like it. Anyway, good luck with your travels and look forward to your next vid.

We’re realising it’s mostly the same everywhere, difference is land is more vast and we feel public land more accessible here. Police is very present is the US, even in the countryside, with very professional behaviour, they have always been kind and providing helpful info the few times they checked on us when free camping in different states. Being on east coast for less than 2months, we feel this is part of the adventure and being moved out will certainly happen again.

I'd keep heading south towards Tierra del Fuego and have a bigger and broader experience. So many amazing countries in Central and South America. 👍

Also looking forward to head more south but that’ll be for later

Seems like a ton of people packed in that little tiny truck, crazy.... You can get a high top van with four-wheel drive... Have room to breathe.. honestly embarrassed for your misfortune dealing with the authorities etcetera... These are the times we live in.... You're welcome in Florida anytime😊❤

We could for sure go for bigger or different but it’s a personal choice for many reasons we stay with our 4x4 like this 🙂 heading towards Florida and looking forward to visit 🙌 any recommendations or off-roading trails ?

You can stay in the US for 6 months less 1 day within any one year (Jan 1 to Dec 31). You can enter and leave several times but have to be less than the 180 days total. As snowbirds from Canada we have to follow this rule as well. Income Tax rules apply if you stay too long!
@offtrackfamily2 ай бұрын
It wasn’t clear about these 6months in a year and now we know it depends on who’s at the border. We understood it’s 6m from the date you enter the country (at least this time in our case), then when you exit depending where and how long and your route, it might not be considered as an exit and could be considered as part of the first 6m you got, so you might not get again 6m or might not be able to re-enter the country right away.

Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is mostly free and hugely plentiful out west.
