I’m not sure how these guys are detailing cars in 2 hours by themselves. I guess Ohio cars are dirtier than LA area, but some of the interiors I get are nasty and I spend 3 hours minimum for a full detail by myself. But my base package starts at $199, mid package with shampoo and steam starts at $349. I have an express wash for regulars or well kept vehicles for $120 depending on size which is basically an exterior detail plus a vacuum and interior glass which is about an hour with 2 guys. This is my first year full time in the business but bookings have been pretty consistent. A day or 2 a week of no bookings the rest 1-3 cars/day. Just landed a 5 vehicle booking for mid tier packages for $1705 (349*5-10% discount). I shoot for $45-60 a man hour depending on the difficulty of work. $60-75/hr for correction work. This channel has helped a lot with the startup obstacles so thanks a bunch!

For that I charge $150min per sedan for a complete detail (interior/exterior). If it has more than lite to medium dirt, it goes up. So that for me would have been $300min.

...and that, ladies and gentleman, is why he has too many customers: his charges are too low. In and out for less than $60.00 in the USA is too cheap. Add 40% to that valet price, and 75% of your customers will stay with you = more money + less work + fewer customers!

@@ElonMusk87216 I'm in England, too, Ohara. There's a bit of a discrepancy between the $20.00 valet in the UK and a similar service that's detailed. A few differences: $20 wash will use a dirty sponge and very weak snow foam (if the cheap wash inc. foam). The cheap wash won't wipe, dust, and dress your interior. The cheap wash won't dry your car with towels, they'll opt for a gritty old chamois leather, damaging to paint. The $20.00 wash won't usually include a spray wax and buff either, and they defo won't polish your windows.

Interiors are dusty and when vac inside and you take out floor mats to vac them you will get the exterior all dusty..

You can easily get away with charging a minimum of $80 for a maintenance detail, I personally charge $100 for maintenance details and it takes me around 2 hours. Something you can present to your customers if you don't want to up your prices just yet is tell them, "My maintenance details are $65 if you book every two weeks or $80 if you book once a month." Then your prices will gradually increase.
