This song I've loved the moment I heard it makes you feel the sympathy of war

Agreed, I was really bummed it came out the day after we recorded this version. No disrespect to Lemmy, but I think I like the Sabaton version better.

@@subfactspodcast you know I think the general consensus is that it's a beautiful tribute for sure. I'm in your camp and I prefer the Sabaton cover but maybe I am biased because I saw their version first and it blew me away.

Never ever think a cover is better than the original song writer's version. It can't be.

This is certainly not your normal Motorhead song, this has an almost Sabaton vibe to it. In fact, I think Sabaton is dropping a cover of this song tomorrow. Like Sabaton, this song reaches in and rips out your heart. It accurately reflects the feelings of the British soldier who enlisted for God, Country, and King, and frankly for the adventure of war, not realizing what the reality of war would be. Lemmy wrote this song after watching a documentary on the 1916 battle of the Somme, and I believe this song has never been performed live. It will be interesting to see how Sabaton approaches this song. great reaction, keep rocking.

I'm a huge fan of Mötorhead, Lemmy could write songs about drinking, gambling and living the rock and roll lifestyle, but he could also write songs that were emotionally charged or would make you think. So, my challenge is for you to listen to a song by Mötorhead called Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me. He wrote it because he thought a lot of people missed the meaning behind Aerosmith's Janie's Got a Gun.
