Omaha alum here. UNO's hockey team used to play in a way-too-big arena downtown before Baxter was built. Creighton plays at that same downtown arena, which is the team you'd be thinking of. UNO's men's and women's basketball teams previously played on-campus at Sapp Fieldhouse, which had way less seating than Baxter does. I didn't know that the Baxter court has the skyline silhouetted on it, though. That's cool; I moved away a while back and haven't yet been there for basketball.

Cool video. Unfortunately Denver no longer plays basketball at Magness Arena. In fact they haven’t played there in probably 4-5 years now. They now play in the smaller Hamilton Gymnasium which doubles as a practice facility. Also, wanted to note that one of the pics for SDSU was actually a pic of the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD - where the conference tournament is held. While it certainly feels like a SDSU arena when they are playing, it isn’t their home arena. Cool video!

It’s hard to believe Magness Arena has been around for a quarter of a century now. I lived in Denver in the late 90s and got to see it under construction. Its primary purpose was for its nationally-renowned ice hockey team, which won the NCAA championship again this season.

The high rises you pointed out in Tulsa are the CityPlex Towers. They were originally part of the City of Faith medical complex, which was adjacent to the OSU campus and why they look out of place. The school's namesake televangelist built the complex as a faith-based hospital and clinic, but today it's an unrelated hospital and office center.

Used to be called the Mid-Continent Conference before 2007. After starting in 1982, 4 of the 8 are currently in the Missouri Valley; Illinois-Chicago, Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Valparaiso. Four of the current members of the Summit League have football in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

That's modern college sports for you these days. Within the video, you could see that UMKC had been in the Western Athletic Conference, and St. Thomas when they were still a D3 school, before they got kicked out of D3 for being too good.

Your initial photo of UM Kansas City Swinney Center is not the Swinney Center....it is of the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium, which UMKC used to rent for their home games. Your others seem accurate.

I suspect they call them KI-oats not Ki oh tees in SD. But not certain. Here on the plains they are considered predators and its open season but the price for their pelts has crashed since the sanctions on Russia. Apparently they bought most of our pelts because fur is still worn there. The best one is Magness Arena (U Denver) by a long shot, its not even close or a debate.

Did you really say one arena was the biggest in the conference and then show the very next one with a capacity over 2000 more? You also missed that 2 others before Omaha are optimized for hockey first, Denver and UND.

UND has an arena for basketball and hockey, and he points it out in the video as they are connected. The Betty may have had hockey a long time ago but it has mainly hosted the basketball teams for 30+ years now.

The Betty hosts Bball and volleyball, Ralph is hockey only. I've only seen the Betty full three or four times (NDSU games) but it's rare to see a quiet night at the Ralph

St thomas is getting a bew arena in 2025. They were forced to moce to D1 because they were too dominant in D3.

They were forced out of the conference not D3. The D1 jump was a decision they made on their own
