I first sung this hymn when I went back to church. It’s a calling, it spoke to what brought me back. When I sing or hear it, I get a little overcome because it speaks to something fundamental to my being. This is a beautiful rendition! Thank you. ❤️

I have always loved this song.......twice when I was singing this for church I was cantering......I could not control the tears..... thats just how this song touches my soul.....even now the tears are welling up......I've learned that I have to do some mental preparation before i sing this......MAJOR preparation.....

I've Loved this song from the first time I heard it. It speaks to me. If we, as Christ's family, had the dedication to Simply follow Christ, to live and love like Christ, we wouldn't be afraid to answer the calls God makes on our hearts, our world would definitely be a better place. And more would come to know the love of Jesus Christ.

It is God what you are looking for. The rest is only decoration. So the worse the Church, the more you will see God.

@@antoniomoyal That’s not entirely true. Beauty draws the human mind to God, which is why Catholic churches are generally beautiful. Obviously, God has told us that He is wherever two or three are gathered in His name, so we know that He’s present in every church, no matter how plain. But beautiful architecture and music are pleasing to Him and to us.

Lyrics (continuation): Will you love the 'you' you hide If I but call your name? Will you quell the fear inside And never be the same? Will you use the faith you've found To reshape the world around, Through my sight and touch and sound In you and you in me? Lord, your summons echoes true When you but call my name. Let me turn and follow you And never be the same. In your company I'll go Where your love and footsteps show. Thus I'll move and live and grow In you and you in me.

Beautiful playing and singing! What kind of guitar do you have? I play guitar for my church and I love the sound that your guitar has
@ChrisBrunelle3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I play a Larrivee guitar (sorry I don’t know the model off the top of my head). When I do my videos I run it through a Fishman loud box mini amp that is off screen about 5 feet and pointed away from the camera. It gives it a better sound but doesn’t overwhelm my voice. So it’s not terribly scientific
@paulmagee1344 Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, I’ve just come across this hymn. It’s very nice indeed and your fingerstyle arrangement is terrific. Almost sounds like there is a second guitar. Query; with your right hand fingers I M A are you picking AMI or IMA ?

Sorry for making the same basic post Chris...here it goes again: "Thank you so much". Yeah, that doesn't seem to really express my gratitude, but...yeah...

Hey Chris What a powerful song and so artfully done. I am a competent guitarist looks like some pretty standard chords - could you possibly point me to where you learned this ? Or is it your arrangement? We sing it at church I mean the picking pattern you are using, the transitions between chords, that kind of detail
@ChrisBrunelle4 жыл бұрын
I’m just playing off the lead sheet, using the chords on the music. So I suppose it’s my “arrangement” but I don’t think if it that way. Such a wonderful piece. I use it regularly at church so I’ve gotten used to playing this way
@gloriakierniesky27074 жыл бұрын
Lovely rendition...can you share details on your guitar? A friend of mine watched this video with me and is interested. Thanks!
@ChrisBrunelle4 жыл бұрын
Well....it’s a Larrivee. Canadian company I believe. I’m not sure of the model, I’d have to go look. I think I bought it about 15 years ago and I’ve been REALLY happy with it.

Chris.......I did the research in John Bell, as a music minister, I research all authors of songs, to my surprise this song is not Catholic. John Bell is a music song writer but also a minister of the church of Scotland. Please illuminate me, those the Diocese allow non Catholic music at Mass? What is the rule? I'm having the same problem at my Diocese. They seem to play anything at mass as long as it sounds pretty. With thousands of Catholic songs written through history, why are we playing music from non Catholics? I guarantee you you would not hear the Salve Regina sung at the 1st Baptist church of Galveston. See my point. If I am wrong, correct me. We are Catholic, we are brothers, we are musicians. There is a huge responsibility when we pick up our guitars, huge.

Absolutely beautiful performance. But, ads BEFORE Christian videos is so unchristian. We are not ruled by the materialism of this world. Why would a serious Christian abuse other people with advertising when they trust in God to provide? This is a major disruption to the mind and soul. Please! If you truly love and trust God, show it by not subjecting us to worldly advertising desperation.
@ChrisBrunelle2 жыл бұрын
KZbin chooses the ads that go on the videos, I don’t have any control over that. I understand that if you get KZbin premium ($16 a month) you never have to see any ads
