This was such a lovely and inspirational conversation. I hope to see more of these chats between you two in the future. It's such an honor to be a part of a community with so many amazing queer voices. I've studied astrology for about 29 years, and have been interested in architecture for even longer. I found it funny when I realized they were both ruled by Saturn in astrology. Throughout my architecture career, I've learned about so many different types of walls: demising walls, pony walls, skirt walls, retaining walls, non-bearing walls, double walls, and on and on. Some walls need to keep out the cold, and others need to hold up rooves. Some need to resist fire. Others need to insulate sound while being transparent. As I result of this architecture knowledge, I've started joking that I specialize in Saturn. It's given me such a nuanced understanding of Saturn and all of the ways he can appear in peoples lives.

Thank you for such generous words, Kurt! It’s an honor to share this conversation with you. And I love that you have become a Saturn expert by way of architecture! Two wonderful, articulate, and compassionate humans! So grateful for your wisdoms and insights on this extremely important and relevant topic. I cross-pollinate my astrology studies with floristry! When I do in-person consultations, I will usually end the session with creating a bouquet or floral piece for the client. As I create it, I inject the piece with so much intention (choosing the right colors, types of flowers/foliages, smells, and overal asthetic), that I believe can be used for healing and to boost positivity, in similar ways that people use gemstones. I also will make ALL the plant metaphors.

I love that you connect astrology and floristry! There's such a long tradition of connecting the planets with different plants and astro-herbalism, and it sounds so beautiful to bring that into floral design. What a beautiful gift for your clients!

37:07 - This is so well said! For better or worse, these intimate relationships shape us into who we become. This current Venus Rx conjunct Pluto is taking place in my 6th house (I'm Leo rising) This marks the end of a 16-year relationship with my therapist who I looked up to as a second father figure. It's taken me all these years to realize the full extent of the manipulation and misconduct he's perpetrated behind the scenes. I thought I was the only one he critisized and was condescending to in therapy. As a Leo with years of criticism shattering my confidence, from my own 'father-like' therapist, it's taken me months to bring myself to this point of 'betraying' him to investigators. However, after over 6 months of research (moon in Scorpio, sun in Gemini) I was heartsick when I realized his narcissistic and psychopathic traits, along with his professional credentials, meant it would be impossible for me to leave this daunting task to anyone else. Having been on the receiving end of his manipulation for as long as I have, and now recognizing the patterns of how his mind works, I can anticipate his responses and cover all those bases in my report, including counter manipulating him to get things on the record so he can't change his story when confronted. This is not a "skill set" I ever wanted and it's still difficult to imagine my future without him and the mutual friends we've shared over the last 16-years -- but for better or worse, he's shaped me into the person I am today. The mental games necessary to make the case as solid as it needs to be and the determination not to let my loyalty/emotions get in the way of doing what I know needs to be done. I learned that from him, in an albeit more destrctive manner but I'm not sure if I would have learned those lessons without him playing the role he played in my life. I thought this was an excellent interview. I love how Michael describes the the complexity of human nature and relates it back to astrology. This warmed my heart after all the recent negativity I've been having to focus on. ❤️ Cheers to you both.

@@morrismichaelj Thank you so much! It's been a journey of awakening to get to this point. As overwhelmed as I feel sometimes, I am fortunate that my emotional wounds aren't as fresh as a few of the other victims I know. These individuals are not only a reminder of the reason I'm doing this and the harm I'm working to prevent in the future. But their love, support, and encouragement throughout this process-- even while still in the early stages of healing from their own traumatic experiences with him-- has been a testament, to the resilience of the human spirit. Our capacity to struggle, to grieve, to share, to comfort, to reflect, and eventually, to overcome the past that once held us captive. I'm not sure where the story will take us but I'm confident it's somewhere better than where we've been. You're wise beyond your years, Michael. Hope to see you in another interview again in the future. 💕

Kelly - I surely hope you do more of these interviews of this caliber. What a brilliant find for the community to hear Michael speak and shine. As for CROSS POLLINATION. I really can't imagine what in life does not intersect and overlap with astrology. I view the whole of life through this lens. Often I hear key phrases of favorite people interviewed on You Tube etc describe their life that completely reflects their charts for example (great teaching tool). Also, in retrospect, with the progressed Sun in Taurus I had a grand garden and self-identified as a gardener. And now, with so much stimulation with Uranus there, I am becoming much more aware in a meaningful way about sexual identification, perspectives on life from other views I was not listening to before etc and this is freeing as when we allow others to be out of the boxes, this frees our-self to do the same. Because our life becomes more informed, a natural consequence is that the astrology we do for self and others does too. I see cross pollination to be very close to Jungian concept of synchronicity. The outer reflects the inner, and the outer mirrors the outer, is constitutive to use Michael's term in its own way. All of this reminds me of Martin Buber's I and Thou. We find meaning in relationship.
@morrismichaelj2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, Jem! I agree, the more we allow others to become more of themselves, the more capable we are of extending that generosity and space to ourselves as well. I'm glad astrology is supporting you in that process!

This was fantastic, it was a pleasure hearing your philosophy and practice of interpreting the Sun Michael! I am curious if you use Solar Returns in your practice and if you use the same concept for yearly forecasting. Like do you look at the sun in the SR chart as providing information for what will be the multivalent central organizing principle of the year by placement and rulership? Thank you so much Kelly, your videos are always fantastic!
@morrismichaelj2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Lori! And that's a great question. I do work with solar returns, but mostly along with annual profections, examining the condition of the annual time lord in the solar return as a indication of its ability to deliver the natal potential. Sometimes I'll look at the solar return chart for topical information, but never as a stand-alone chart from the natal chart. The Sun in the solar return is special because it will always be in the same sign/degree (by definition), but I would perhaps consider the house placement in the solar return to be descriptive of a central focus in that particular year-especially in a Leo profection year. But mostly I focus on the profected time lord for the year in the solar return chart as describing the focus of that year. I hope that's helpful!

I enjoyed this very much. So much substance and interesting perspective. Please have Michael on one of your future interviews or podcasts again. They’re just so well spoken knowledgeable and intelligent. There are countless things that validate Astrology all around us each moment of every day which makes it just so endearing and fascinating. I love to create astrology related art and also pay particular attention to the ways in which different types of artists and people in general create and being able to relate it to their birth chart, and also observing how progressed charts influence those closest to me in their current lives. I enjoy paying attention and observing how Astrology constantly manifests itself at a personal level as well as at a collective level. As someone who can appreciate originality, unconventionality and our differences, with Uranus in Scorpio in my VII house, it was great to be reminded of all the nuances that make us the complex evolving individuals we are. All I know about astrology stems from the books I'd started reading in high school all the way through internet blogs in the early 00s' and now ongoing through the Astrology Podcast and your channel. Sadly my library dwindled with each city I'd move away from, but at some point I'll look at recreating the entire inventory, haha. At some point I'm quite certain I'm cross-polinating or borrowing certain turns of phrase, although it would seem most would eventually when speaking about the same topics. Anyway, really appreciated this chat and the willingness to explore other aspects of astrology that while not steeped in tradition, might have some validity in areas. Mentioning black-and-white thinking vs. the inclusivity of grey areas and acceptance of messiness is something I've been championing quite a bit of late. Great talk, thank you both!

I'm not sure what you mean by which one you should listen to more, but I would say listen to your whole chart rather than any one part of it. It's all describing your life in different ways. If both the Ascendant ruler and your Sun are in the same sign, then the topics of whatever house is occupied by that sign are going to be incredibly important for your life.

Are traditional astrology using vedic astr. chart ?

Western traditional astrology doesn't use the Vedic style chart.

It's more about what is the division of labour in the birth chart between the Ascendant, its sign, and its ruler and their house and the Sun and its sign and house.

Can u see in your chart if you knew your real dad? Mom said my real dad was not my dad. He believed till death and told me again. Would like to know. Probably not a western astrology we question ⁉️

How can someone who identifies as they-them-their refer to themselves as "I". Shouldn't it be they? Or we?
@novalunatica2 жыл бұрын
Singular “they” has been in use for hundreds of years in both formal and informal English language. There is no need to try to pluralize anything. It wouldn’t change the use of I anyway since I is used by all to speak in the first-person and not the third-person where he/she/they is used.
@angelam17022 жыл бұрын
So, may I address them as "you" or not?
@novalunatica2 жыл бұрын
@@angelam1702 that would be speaking in the second-person, and yes, you is used for every person as well, regardless of the pronouns used when speaking in the third person.
@angelam17022 жыл бұрын
@@novalunatica I think there's a lot of misunderstanding about this preference. I thought we were supposed to greet with, " Hello, how are they?".
@novalunatica2 жыл бұрын
I can’t imagine a situation where this would be true. If you use “you” in the second-person for someone that prefers he or she pronouns, you can use it for someone that prefers “they”. You only use ‘they’ when in the third person. A basic understanding of English should make this quite clear and simple. Is English is not your primary language? If not, then I’m sorry - I know every language has a different baseline and usage. But again, for English speakers, this is all very straightforward.

Really disappointed Kelly to hear you indulge in compelled speech. Enabling the magical thinking of those who wish to ingress women and girls safe spaces threatens all women and girls everywhere. Particularly those who are sportswomen (viz swimming in the USA atm), women's prisons (viz men transferring to the female estate, check California and many other states), viz men accessing dv and rape crisis centres. If you call a man she, you create a world where all the above follows. Please reconsider what you have started doing. Thank you.
@invisiblemissx2 жыл бұрын
You're honestly disappointed in Kelly for not upholding the integrity of women's prisons as "safe spaces" for cis women/girls because she had a member of the LGBTQ+ community on her podcast to talk about astrology? What are you saying? Spit it out in plain English. Are you conflating Kelly using Michael's preferred pronouns with some kind of micro-aggression against cis women/girls everywhere? P.S. I've worked at a DV shelter and on our rape crisis team and if you think women are the only ones who can be victims of this kind of abuse, you're willfully ignorant of reality.
@invisiblemissx2 жыл бұрын
Oy... 🙄 Rather than posting other people's talking points, how do YOU recommend regulating your binary "black-and-white" utopian society? Mandatory pelvic exams to use the women's restroom? You want your tax dollars to go to funding separate LGBTQ+ jails/prisons and DV shelters because in your society cis-gender men and women shouldn't be in shared living spaces with LGBTQ+ individuals? What about people who are intersex? What's your criteria for determining a person's sex? Genetic testing? My co-worker's child has kleinfelter syndrome. They have XXY. Where do they go in your binary world? Physical presentation? So as long as transgender people are POST- gender confirmation surgery, that's alright? If you believe your own defining characteristic is what's been their legs, I'm sorry for you. I believe you're more than that. Just like I believe Michael contributed more to this interview than just their preferred pronouns. It seems like you believe women deserve the opportunity to get an education, to have careers, to play competitive sports. Yet, every one of these things were considered "masculine" and "unladylike" not too long ago. I'm not saying you need to adopt non-binary titles for yourself or start going to LGBTQ+ events if they don't fit with your personal beliefs. But maybe consider that nothing in life is as black-and-white as the media or political parties paint them out to be.
_After you failed to answer a single one of the questions above, you're posting ANOTHER link with almost 2 hours worth of someone else's talking points??_ Do you have ANY independent thoughts of your own? Because at this point it seems like you're 'doubling down' on willful ignorance and trolling the comments section in order to critisize, invalidate, and spread unwarranted hate-- which, mind you, is entirely unrelated to the topic being discussed in this video-- without even reflecting on the questions that I've asked you. I'm open to engage in respectful dialogue with you but dropping these links in order to use _OTHER PEOPLE'S_ words and opinions to respond to questions that _YOU_ refuse to answer is both lazy and cowardly.
@leerylifeform2 жыл бұрын
This is how Kelly gets her woke points. I found this “discussion” so empty and rambling. Like, get to the point instead making all these lame, vague comments. Imagine how bad the classes are.
