Question....do you apply the fusible fleece to the exterior and then SF101 on top of thatf?
@AmyLynneDesigns5 жыл бұрын
I do it in this order, SF101 on the center exterior fabric pieces. Then when both front and back exterior pieces are complete I fuse Thermolam TP971F, cut using the smaller foam interfacing piece, then on top of that I use Pellon 808 Craft Fuse cut to the full size. If you follow the manufacturers instructions for fusing I promise it will fuse!
@1955dmb2 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness, the nuggets in this tutorial are quite impressive. I am going to need to devote a week to taking notes and buying tape and interfacing. If this bag was made into a cross body and created with the professional steps Amy Lynne took, does anyone have a fair suggestion for what one could/should charge for the Sunshine Crossbody? The supplies alone add up. The time (at least for me) is also quite extensive. Thanks Amy Lynne!
@AmyLynneDesigns2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! If you turned this into a crossbody, depending on materials, you can charge between $50 and $70USD.
@1955dmb2 жыл бұрын
@@AmyLynneDesigns Thanks! I think we should be able to get more but I 'm sure you are right about what people are willing to pay. Think of the LV handbags that bring thousands. But I consider it therapy. I enjoy making them. Speaking of LV bags, I just learned that they use a glazed canvas rather than leather. I wonder if that is a product we can buy retail. It’s very sturdy and waterproof. I have been looking this morning but have not yet found anything. I made seven crossbody bags using all your techniques and they turned out GREAT!

@@AmyLynneDesigns Just wanted to say that I finished my first Sunshine Crossbody. Your tutorial made all the difference. I am really please with the outcome. The trimming suggestion was much needed. I'm going to make two more and will have this video on the stand by for each step. I rotate making 3 different patterns and as I am new to bag making, it helps so much to have you with me so to speak. Hope you are doing well and thanks so much for this tutorial.
@TheMaggiemay772 жыл бұрын
I find that when I am installing the side seams in the area of the top zipper that if I make the bag at least 1/2 inch to an inch wider than the pattern calls for, when it comes time to sewing around the bag having that extra space around the top zipper and zipper tab makes the zipper and tab come out better when I turn it out. Otherwise I end up with weird-wonkyness even when following the rules of not topstitching all the way out to the edge and using a zipper foot.
@AmyLynneDesigns Жыл бұрын
If that method works for you keep doing it!! Exploring new techniques as we sew makes this entire hobby and business so much more fun! I'm glad you found something that works well for you!!

Very interesting video, thank you. May I know, how can you sew a metallic zipper, isn’t it broking a needle?
@AmyLynneDesigns Жыл бұрын
Thank You 😊. To sew a metallic zip you start sewing normally, when you reach the teeth you can’t just zoom across you have to hand crank the machine slowly wiggling the needle if necessary to get it to slide in between the teeth. Once over the teeth you can just carry on sewing as normal.

Thank you from Germany 🌸Can you sew slowly on this machine or do you need/ have a special speed slower on this machine?
@AmyLynneDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Vanessa Sue Kerstin you can go as slow as you need. When I purchased the machine I also bought the servo motor. It comes with a clutch motor, which has two speeds off and top speed. So I spent the extra money, very reasonable, and got the servo motor so I could go any speed I need. It has a dial underneath that you adjust which caps you off so you can go really slow to slow, then move the dial and go really slow to moderate, then turn it again and go really slow to fast. Best investment I’ve made besides my hand press!
