My adult daughter asked me not too long ago how I kept our vehicle and homes clean while they were growing up despite me being a single parent, often having to work long hours and then having their friends over constantly. I told her I constantly reminded myself of my own Mom's saying, "don't go away empty handed." Meaning regardless if you were an adult or child and you were getting out of a vehicle or leaving a room, take something with you that needs to be put away or discarded in the trash. It didn't matter who was the one that left it, grab it anyway because chances are that person has probably had to pick up something of theirs at one time too. Then she realized why I always said that statement. It must've sunk in deep because now she tells her children the same and her vehicle especially is no longer constantly trashed. I have ADHD and OCD and she has ADHD and so does my grandson so keeping on track is challenging, but that rule has helped her. She said it's cut down on the stress, she's able to relax more in a more put together home and vehicle and less squabbling with the kids to pick their mess up.

@Ball41842 ай бұрын
If you're really ambitious, something you can do is put a trash can/bag in your car, although how much you have to maintain that as a habit depends both on the size of the bag/can and how often you have people in your car - it's kind of trashy to look at (pun intended) from the outside, but your trash is in one place if you tend to eat lunch in your car

@@schoonergirl2658 His sense of humor and his way of explaining things is what finally got my sister motivated to clean her home and purge it of, in her words "useless junk that kept piling up." She lives alone and never had any kids. Thank God she did it when she did because she had to go in for major surgery and almost lost her entire leg to diabetes. They ended up amputating just the toe, but now when she gets home from rehabilitation she won't have a bunch of obstacles to have to try to get around. I love your videos. I suffer from ADHD, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I use your videos as insight into what you don't want your home or vehicle to look like and inspiration to get up and do something. Your 3 foot method has helped a lot with the overwhelming amount of anxiety that I get even when trying to clean. I think simple videos could work for now. So something like cleaning, organizing, or decluttering one certain room or closet in your own house could be a quick solution to videos, at least for the time being until Emily is done with he surgery and is fully recovered.

Some shorter content WOULD work really well right now. TBH, I looked him up yesterday to see if I could find a video with his recommendations for cleaning supplies. To much of there is so toxic, but at this as point certain areas need more then my usual vinegar and water. I trust him and know he has mentioned several brands he likes, or recipes he suggests.
@moongoddess53942 ай бұрын
@JupiterJamie The 3 foot method just means you tackle a 3 foot section of a room at a time; instead of trying to tackle the entire room in one go. For example in a cluttered kitchen, just do 3 feet of the kitchen worktop, not the entire kitchen. That way, you don't get overwhelmed.

Do you have an unmatched sock pile? I'm not looking for how to fold or what detergent to use..too many of those videos but more like laundry management. Where do u put hampers? do you pretreat stains? Do you hang up everything? Do you do all loads in 1 day or do a little laundry through the week? How often do you get rid of clothes..do you hate velvet hangers? that kind of thing.

One of these days, I will drive to Saskatchewan and have Mitch (The Detail Geek) clean my car. Until then, this will do. Thanks for the video, Mack. ❤

If you want to support Mack, don't forget to watch the AD completely/ don't skip it ✌🏻

There wasn't an ad 😊 😂

I'm not sure whether this is true? For every source saying skipped ads make less/no money, there's another saying that skipped ads make exactly as much money, and some saying that it depends on whether or not the ad is bumper (pre/post-roll)

That's the info I've got from a German KZbinr (last year). Sorry if there was an update.

I've just told my counsellor about this channel. My favourite parts are the "so shut up" "so suck it" and the intros. Gives me a wee laugh. Aswell as all the education, compassion and understanding from this exceptional channel ❤

Thanks for the tip about continuing to vacuum to get more and more crud out of the carpeting. It seems like that should’ve been obvious to me, that vacuuming longer would keep pulling stuff up? But it just never clicked before!

Today I actually worked on decluttering some things out of my car for the first time in months. I feel like this is a sign to keep going 😊

Sometimes good enough is good enough. Never thought about using all purpose kitchen cleaner in my car, will have to try that next time!

Love this video: "good enough" cleaning always gets my vote. And I don't even drive but seeing you work inspires me to clean because it either belongs elsewhere or in the trash bag. Thanks 👍

Thank you for doing a video. I sent this one to my Granddaughter. She has a husky that goes everywhere with her. I hope got some needed rest.❤

This was a nice video! I think periodically doing a “how to clean X specific type of thing” video could be great for educating as well as mixing things up on the channel. You could even film yourself cleaning the thing as part of filming a whole house and then voiceover a separate tutorial type video of whatever specific thing. A two-fer. (Sorry if you’ve done that before I haven’t seen every video you’ve done.)

At one point in time, it was though I lived out of my car with all the work travel. So cleaning it was as important as cleaning my house. Great tips you gave on cleaning. Wish it wasn’t close to 100 degrees with high humidity during the day or I would clean it now. Typical summer in South Louisiana.
