I saw this movie in IMAX, and it was awesome. Just pure, unadulterated fun. My favorite part was Jack Black's incredible performance as Bowser and his banger song, "Peaches". I also love the amazing animation, awesome references, colorful action, and great music and humor. Definitely the best film from Illumination right after _Dispicable Me._

Keegan Michael Key as Toad is amazing! He deserves more love and I will shout him out on every reactors video! 😂 this film is amazing! Such nostalgia & still fresh. I've played them all! 😂 I've has a nes a super nes, the gun everything. Mario only gets hurt where u can see it, like bruises etc, in the real world. He's resilient like in the games in the other worlds, which I think is a brilliant touch.

The musical throw backs are so wonderful! Also DK's other people were Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong (dad), Candy Kong and Funky Kong (guy that let you travel). I think there were more on N64s Kong game, forgot who though. I was always a fan of Diddy for his guitar solos when you beat a level. Though Funky's laid back surfer music was also great!

@@karlluigi1987 That may be true, but I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and it met the expectations I had in mind. I wasn't expecting an incredible story with all kinds of depth to it, personally. I was really just looking for a fun and nostalgic experience, which is exactly why I enjoyed it to the extent that I did. I suppose how much you enjoyed or didn't enjoy the movie really depends on what your own personal expectations were going into the movie. Have a good one, mate!

This movie is amazing, even for an Illumination film! Because I’m a video gamer as well as a Super Mario fan, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the SMB film on the big, IMAX screen. Taking in the gorgeous animation, catching many references to the games, and enjoying the character performances made my experience with this movie a wonderfully fun time. The praise it has gotten from release to this point is well-deserved!

I agree that the potential Legend of Zelda movie should be more “serious” to an extent. I think the best route for that film would be to be created by the Dreamworks animation team (supervised by Nintendo ofc) and handled in the way of the How To Train Your Dragon films. That’d be really cool imo.

First few mario games I can remember playing were the Super Mario Bros. All Stars collection for the super nintendo, Mario 64, and all of the Mario Party games for the nintendo 64. These games started a passion for gaming and a never ending love for Mario, even at 28 years old. Thanks for this great reaction!

Cool! When I saw this in the theater, it was in 3D Max 4D! The seats moved a bit, the theater had lights that flashed and it had some fog too. There was a little bit of water and air that shot as us! It was a fun experience!

I do believe we’ll get more Nintendo games turned movies (or possibly shows), because I heard that Nintendo bought some animation studio or something, so maybe they are prepping to make some more stuff, hopefully. I would personally like to see a Legend of Zelda anime of some kind. That would be so cool. Also my first Mario was Super Mario Kart, the very first one.

Nope, the squeaky voice has always been the first Mario voice, it's just the Mario super show had a different idea when making the show, but they also made Bowser into a green reptile named "king koopa" so honestly it wasn't the craziest change in the show

@@mintteaxd8169 the “King Koopa” wasn’t a change tho, in the Nintendo Magazine Bowser was referred as King Koopa and was later added to be King of the Koopas; that’s why from the start it was clear he was a turtle but people who didn’t know that about the magazine trivia thought he was a dragon🤷🏾‍♂️

Bowser wasn’t called Bowser in America until Super Mario World. Same with Peach. She used to just be Princess Toadstool. And the Super Show came out way before the squeaky voiced Mario. He also had a Brooklyn accent in the live action film, which was also before the Mario voice we know now.

@@mintteaxd8169 incorrect, the iconic squeaky voice came in 1996, Mario's FIRST voice was a generic voice with no accent in 1986, the guy who voices Optimus prime was the first guy that ever voiced Mario, then in 1989 they gave Mario a Brooklyn accent in Old PC games and an the old cartoons and then 1996 they gave Mario the squeaky voice. To say that Mario always had the squeaky voice "first" is just plain false.

Charles was the first Mario voice in a video game, making it canon. That, to me, is original. He’s always meant to have a Brooklyn/Italian accent though, but Charles has been voicing Mario for 20+ years. He is the original, at this point.

If they go with the characters’ voices from the games, I feel like it’s not gonna fit; it would be kinda weird and annoying. People need to understand that a video game and movie are two totally different things. And just so you know, Mario and Luigi used to speak like regular people with Brooklyn accents back in the 80s, since they’re canonically from Brooklyn, New York. Do you guys not know about the old Mario cartoons? The iconic Brooklyn Mario was from a WWE wrestler, Captain Lou Albano, and he was Italian-American. Anyway, Chris Pratt actually did a good job doing the high-pitched Italian accent in the Plumbing commercial scene. And also, this is an origin story about Mario and Luigi being in the Mario world for the first time, and they’ve just met Princess Peach; she might get kidnapped in the future.

25:50 Actually JV, I don't know if you played Super Mario Galaxy, but the reference that Peach makes definitely was a Galaxy reference. Even the depressed Luma that is in prison with the Penguins and Luigi is hinting that in a potential sequel, we're possibly going to get the appearance of another really cool character which is Rosalina. The inclusion of the Gusty Garden Galaxy music theme in the end credits was icing on the cake. Not just because they were hinting possibly at another movie, but because the Gusty Garden Galaxy theme is one of the most popular and famous Nintendo themes to ever be composed. Gamers and fans love it, Nintendo loves it, and it makes sense because they reuse the theme so much. The theme has unofficially been dubbed as one of Nintendo's main anthems. It's almost difficult to imagine any Mario game or film without some reference or nod to certain music themes. This movie definitely went all out for it especially since the music is what makes a game or movie so iconic.

There was the Wii U as well. It had the gamepad, which was basically the Switch except it still had to connect to the console to play the games so you couldn’t take it everywhere. But it was still somewhat mobile and you could use it as a screen to play Wii games if you didn’t have a TV. It even had its own detector where you could point your Wii remote at it. I still can’t believe not a lot of people wanted it when it was a Wii with added features. When both were comparable in price, why wouldn’t you get the one with more games that could still play the Wii games? Anyway, I’m just sad because they don’t make any more gamepads or Wii Us, so if your Wii U breaks down, there are no spare parts or a way to get a new one without buying a used one from someone else.

My first Mario was the NES and I remember trying to shoot the dog when it laughed when I missed. I loved the old Nintendo Gun. It was cool. I also had the pad for NES cause there was some Olympic style game I do not remember the name of I used to play on the NES when i was a little kid. My little brother he loved the Power Glove, I think that was what it was called.

Played & watched others play Super Mario Bros at the Circle K gas station for hours before the Nes launch. My first system was Artari 2600 then Nes to finally Playstation.

Mario 1 was my first. I enjoyed 2. But 3 was my favorite of the 3. Didn't own snes so I didn't get to play much of that game. Mario 64 was amazing and definitely changed the game literally and figuratively. So much was added to that game.

If you think about it Donkey Kong really did let him win by staying to his word and not using power-ups because imagine how easily and fast he would've beaten Mario with power-ups. That blue star is my favorite character in the movie. The blue shell should've went for Peach since she was in front of Mario. I found out that Spike is an old enemy from the NES Mario games named Foreman Spike. Also these are their heights: Bowser is 10 ft 2, Donkey Kong is 7 ft 10, Princess Peach is 6ft 1, Luigi 5 ft 8, Mario is 5 ft 2, and Toad is 1 ft 8.

I have a theory about Mario's Family and how did they come to America in the first place! First of all the reason why Mario has a Italian accent because he and his family are of Italian descent! What my theory is Mario's great-great-grandparents came to America from Italy in the 1890s, Mario's great-grandparents to Mario's Grandpa who was war veteran in the 1950s and Mario's Parents gave birth to Mario and Luigi in 1980s!

I felt the same way in the beginning, thinking that Chris Pratt did a good Mario voice, until the commercial ended lol. But honestly the voice wasn’t too distracting. But also tho I don’t mind the pop music as others do, I do really wish they used the music they made for the movie. Cause they actually had other composed music with Melodies from the video game and they also didn’t credit the guy for the DK rap (which sucks :/ ). I still really liked the movie!

Honestly, I enjoyed the movie but felt it fell flat a little. The movie felt like it wanted to be all the Mario games at once instead of focusing series of them and then doing another series in another movie. Still played real well on the nostalgia, but trying to play homage to the entire history in one movie made it feel kinda rushed.

I know this is controversial thing to say but here it goes, the universe is endless with lots of galaxies in it and in all those galaxies there are planets and to say that our planet is the only one that has intelligent life on it, is absolutely the most arrogance thing that we can say who knows what the universe holds out there. Just because we have never seen it doesn't mean that it don't exist.
