We need a tear down of an old carburated engine ;)

Good video mate. 27 minute mark, that's the balance shaft, because this is a 90 degree V6.

Thank you! And thanks for the info, I was still wondering what that was.

Interesting probably lack of maintenance how many miles on that motor?
@rosstrittler2 ай бұрын
If I remember, it only had 120k miles.

Half the weight of the engine is bolts.
@rosstrittler2 ай бұрын
Lol, the other half is timing chains and gears

Breh get a motor mount. Then I will watch your videos.

Watch the video first, then you can comment 🤔 You must not have listened in the first 60 seconds of the video or watched where I had to cut the torque converter off to fit it on my engine stand.

The designers and engineers of this engine should be fired or ex....😑

🤣 I just can't imagine why they thought 4 timing chains and 11 gears were a good idea.
@EscoSpeed2 ай бұрын
The issue with these engines is that the upper timing chain tensioner fail causing the timing chain to slap on the head... this introduce metal shaving into the oil where the aluminum will eventually settle into the bearing..
@rosstrittler2 ай бұрын
I figured that bad tensioner had something to do with it.
@Pwnulolumad2 ай бұрын
Sooo , shorter oil change intervals ?
@EscoSpeed2 ай бұрын
@Pwnulolumad when the tensioner go bad, they give a pretty awful rattling noise on startup.. changing the tensioner asap is the best course of action.. changing the oil more frequently may not help as aluminum will continue to make it's may to the oil and collect in the bearings
