I probably remember more from reading about it and seeing it later, but this M/T 200MPH Club event was my first drag race on the West Coast; my third even, I believe. It pretty much sealed the deal for me and I knew that I would have something to do with this stuff at some point. The next summer, that started to happen for me, so it was something like 9-10 months after I made that decision that I was actually able to do it Not that bad if you think about it. Watch this, it really does show some of the cool stuff from the mid-60s, with the conversation and that old Video. Another wonderful effort by Cecil B. dePitts and crew.

Bill: Fantastic! Here I thought that they would just have a good showing at this event but, they walk away with the money! (such as it was) This is really incredible to me. You can't just take a few guys that like cars and decide to go Top Fuel racing and win anything...opps...I guess you can. At this point in the history...even Big Daddy is probably saying "Who the hell are these guys?". As usual, looking forward to the next installment. Bill

HI Bill. Now remember that the M/T Meet was made up of two events. Saturday was a 64 car deal that beat up on the finalist pretty hard. Then, the very next day came the 32 car field. Just top fuel drag racing overload at its finalist!! :) It would be good to investigate that Saturday race and find out who fought hard up through the elimination ladder and then the next day, tried to do it again. All fascinating stuff, as far as I'm concerned. Have a good day and we'll see you next week. Bill
