That smirk from Tom at 15:10 when Bob Higginson says "this was before teflon strips and all that," is funny as hell and made me laugh, and that's a badass picture of the Howard Cam Rattler highlighting the Scott injectors. Saw that one and the previous 'Special at Lions at night. The OCIR picture of the original 1965 Howard Cam Special must have been taken in '67 when OCIR was new, since the Rattler and Larry "Fireside Inn" Sr. came along in '68. How can a kid not remember the announcer saying car names like that?

Bill Pitts , I understand your loss , some tragedies unfold slowly and it is my belief they are more difficult to handle like in your case. Some come suddenly and as a shock. My baby brother who is ten years my junior took his life Valentine's day this year. I parked everything. Called clients and told them the truth, that it would be awhile until I got my head on straight. Then asked the Lord to walk me through this. I put everything in his hands. The only way I could climb out of the darkness. We did see that he was suddenly troubled. He tried twice on this year. He told us he needed God. He needed forgiveness for something he would not tell us but in his eyes was unforgivable. Told him he was welcome to our church. Because of his open "lifestyle". He thought he would not be accepted. But to our surprise he and a close friend showed up. The members welcomed him. We all left and he showed up at our door. He asked to speak with my wife outside. He came inside a few moments later. Teary eyed my wife came in and told me. Ray has something to tell you. I thought it was the unforgivable transgression he was going to tell me. Instead I was dumbfounded as he told us he accepted the Lord into his life I leaped up hugging him , we all hugged and cried. Little brother I told him. You have nothing to fear anymore. All your sins are forgiven and no one can take that from you. He stayed late into the night. We were so happy. Then 48 hours later our hearts were torn on Valentine's day, as he interpreted that his path to forgiveness was cleared and with a rifle to the chest he took his own life. This is both difficult to type but therapeutic. We can only cherish the memories we had. And share the good and the tragic.

Is anyone having a problem with audio level for Mr. Jobe ? All others are louder, I can barely hear Mr. Jobe.
@vintagedragsters
@vintagedragsters 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, R.L. This particular episode was completed in June of last year. The audio levels are set at 100% If I go higher there will be distortion. My suggestion would be to consider head phones, etc., that help with you hearing it to your liking. And know that a lot can happen to your hearing in a year. (g) Oh also, know that we had an electric fan in the room that was a swivel type and it was HOT in that room. So the camera's mic was picking up that back ground noise, which was changing as the fan went through its arch. And know that it's just cheap camera equipment. That's what we had at the time and still, I think the information came across. You and one other person had a problem with the audio. We've had over 500 hits so far. Have a good day, R.L. Hope you'll continue to watch. Sincerely, Bill

No doubt a valuable document of the Surfers and fuel racing. I've watched every facinating episode more than once. The fatal flaws are the morose doomsday atmosphere created by the music and almost unbearable sychophancy. Obviously the star and focus of the show is and should be Tom.
