I just have a fresh experience of not getting the job. At first, it looked very good, I got called in for a second job interview and they ended up welcoming me in the company and asked me to check my schedule to see what day I could start, they even used sentences like "you will be the first person in the role". When I sent the email with my schedule, the response was "let´s schedule a call". Right from that response, I knew something was off. The call then went like "Oops, we found out there´s this strong candidate in our company and we have to evaluate that person for the position as well... and it´s gonna take two weeks". Of course, they hired the other person and I went from "you will be the first one in this position" to "2 weeks wasted". Probably a good story of an example of why it´s important not to put all your eggs in one basket.

Wow. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Excited for a new job, only to be let down. It was probably in your favor because there’s no telling what other things could have unexpectedly happen when you got in the company.

In my personal experience, from the moment I started using the tips that this man gives in his videos, I saw an improvement in the interviews and I started to get into more andvaced stages and feel more interest in me from the recruiters. He helps a lot in feeling more secure, know how to reply common questions and how to prepare for interviews. Really appreciate his labor.

Watching your videos have helped me landed two consecutive jobs - one last year, and one just today. The one l got last year didn't last long at all because it turned out to be a toxic work environment. The new offer that I've just received today is completely different. In any case, what I wanted to say to those who are still in the market looking for a job to not give up. Oftentimes it really isn't your fault. Just keep at it and watch all of this channel's videos. You'll only get better the more interview you do. The answers on this channel have helped me aced so many difficult interview questions that some of my interviewers were impressed about. But most importantly, just be yourself. You can fake some work experience, but never fake your personality. As it's been mentioned many times on this channel before, when it comes to job interviews soft skills matter more. Thank you, Bill for your hard work. And Good luck to everyone out there! You're awesome!

Still waiting for a response because my application status is still "under review". Feeling a little bit loss and in despair and have accepted that I won't be accepted anymore. Thank you for this! It just sucks that there are also biases from hr and management. I have felt betrayed even by people who pretended to be friendly and when I asked for helped I got ghosted. Oh man :)

I got a job interview this week. The interviewer was the production manager and the assistant production manager. The assistant was a downer and all about schedule and salary which kind a bit of sickening, while the manager is all about skills and experiences and help me tour around the facility. The manager was easy to talk to and very understandable. However, the next day I got an email rejection letter from HR. It says that the job position has been filled, the decision only applies to this specific role and separate from your status on other opportunities to which you may have applied.

Age. It’s a big one. If the person doing the hiring is younger than you, 99 times out of 100 they will not hire you. Managers fear people they perceive as more experienced than them. It’s simply the way it is.

I lost out on a job because in the interview they said I was too enthusiastic. What does that mean?

Sounds like a red flag from the company. You dodged a bullet

Maybe they thought you were faking high energy levels for the interview?

Thanks for sharing, the thing is since recruiters never call back or give any feedback you'll never know which of all the options you've mentioned was the reason why you didn't get hired. I want to ask you if they have a budget for the position why they prefer to play the "what is your desired salary or previous salary" game, which feels like they are setting you up to fail.

From a timid 20 some year old fresh out of engineering school to a senile 40 something mid level coder, i find that interviews are a lot easier when you don't care whether you get hired or not. When you don't care, you're more relax and it's easier to open up to the hiring manager Not saying you should be rude, but don't treat the interview as if it is your last. Unfortunately, it's a numbers game.

What I find really difficult during interview is answering questions about exclusivity. Really throw me off the loop of how what people are doing behind closed door would matter in solving problems day in day out at projects

Certainly puts the 14 applications I put in at the company I just got hired in and the 8 other applications with other companies into perspective haha. Thanks for the quality info as always, Bill.

Hi, I just got rejected from my first interview. I felt so sad, because I totally fit for the job. 😢

That’s interesting what you said about political reasons why not getting the role. I recall several year ago I interviewed for a job at my favorite Six Flags park. Not as a park employee but for their business office as a business analyst. I had two interviews and still didn’t get the job. I did notice at the second interview there was a candidate leaving the hiring manager’s office wearing the Six Flags park uniform. It didn’t really think anything of it at the time. Anyway I got information from someone that worked there that they do a lot of hiring within and actually encourage it. When I spoke to the recruiter afterwards I probed for information about this and they did say that current employees do get first crack at opportunities and that they still like to interview outside people in the event they don’t get enough employees that apply for the job but they do tend to favor their own people. I guess I can’t be upset about that. If I was a park employee and another opportunity came up I’d like a chance at it too.

2 weeks ago I had a screening interview, over zoom, with the company's recruiter. It seemed to go well and she asked about my schedule and if it would be ok if it took a few days to get back to me on next steps. I sent a followup last week but never got a response, which is equal parts frustrating and surprising.

I got the interview with HR and was very promising she said I was very qualified but when they set up an interview with the manager she didn’t show up and next day HR say I won’t be able to work there. It crushed my mind, I asked if I can reapply in the future and they didn’t answer.
@carolinekofahl88676 ай бұрын
They want someone "special" - oh yeah, that happens 😆I was there as a temp, was told no, don't apply, a lot (very qualified) were rejected, and at long last one person was hired, who didn't have the education he claimed, but his parents were friends of the head of department. Well, shit happens ... 🤭🤣🤣

ATS is being used on almost every job these days. Take your time selecting jobs and then match the keywords with each resume.

Farmers say that you shouldn't plant your corn in November. If you can afford to do so, I wonder if it's better to wait it out and just study to build your skill set until things improve.

I've been rejected after being told the job was mine! The executives felt I didn't have enough or there was a candidate that had the education and certification. The HR DIRECTOR was outvoted by the CEO, COO, and CTO. I'm heartbroken! I'm embarrassed as I told friends and family that I had finally got a chance of my lifetime. I'm older than most people in my field of HR. I've given up!

I applied for the same job in a different area and did not get it. The person who got it has not done the training. That makes me question if I am good at my role.😢 The interview was for an hour but ended up being 2 hrs 20 mins, not happy and they even asked me to change time with no thank you. Any thoughts on this?

Ok - I like your videos, I like you, I could work with you 😂 - seriously these are really timely and great, although unless things are a lot better in the US than UK, the last “no” and the latest both say there are over 1,300 candidates - so odds are 0.077%. I should probably start the lottery. I’m hearing you loud and clear, will look at your other material on avoiding the job boards. 😉

Thanks for sharing, this is very helpful. I do have a question if its ok. I had my 1st interview for a compliance job with the Head of Compliance. Luckily, they offered me a 2nd interview. However, the 2nd interview is with people who work in departments where the Compliance Team performs assurance and monitoring. I can see potential conflict of interest, if I'm ask about my compliance style and how I handle operating in a regulatory grey area. What's your thought on this interview process? Thanks and I very much appreciate your video.

I had job interview 2 weeks ago and after two weeks I see some tasks to be completed on workday job application, the tasks are about social security, country of birth, US citizenship status, I got no offer, any thoughts? I was told the job requires security clearance, are they asking these information because of security clearance?
