I normally eat Cod because it doesn’t taste too fishy.

And levels of persistent organic pollutants like herbicides, pesticides, and PFAS have been increasing every year in seafood. Better to go to where seafood gets its omega 3s, algae. There are several companies selling omega 3 supplements extracted from algae grown in purified water. No worries about mercury or other pollutants.

I think the math shows the benefits outweigh the minimal risks. A serving of sardines ( 3.5 oz, roughly 100 grams) has roughly 1.3 micrograms of mercury. A lethal dose is 200-800 milligrams. ( There are 1000micrograms in one milligram) Mercury has a half life in our body of roughly 60 days. Would i eat lots of fish every day...? No. But i wont hesitate to eat it 3 times a week.
