Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is infamous for being a horrible movie, but the licensed videogame adaptation is actually quite.... good? How can such a thing be possible? Well, let's find out!

I actually reached out to Krome Studios with questions regarding the development of the game. They did grant my request, but unfortunately there is nobody working there anymore who would be able to answer any significant questions on the subject. so at the moment, it's lost to time. However, they did kindly respond and told me that Krome has a good reputation in the gaming industry for treating IPs with care and a great work ethic with getting projects finished on time and within budget. This era of gaming is so freaking weird, depending on what console you played a game on varied WILDELY system to system, different levels, different mechanics, DIFFERENT STORIES. It’s so wild bc now almost all ports are the same

I didn’t have a PS3 growing up (bought mine a few months back, the slim model) so when I got the game for the Wii (which is basically the same as the PS2, I was so excited and tbh it tells the story of the movie far better than it ever could lol. Like it actually has a formidable battle with Devastator as Optimus Prime, something I wish we saw at the end in Egypt. Overall I still love this game although I’m tempted to get the PS3 version just because I finally can lol.

Never played this one. I enjoyed the PS3 version, but upon migrating to PS3, I took the stance that all PS2 versions were undercooked ports in comparison to PS3 and other then-current gen, like Godzilla Unleashed on PS2 being mostly a slight reskin of Godzilla Save the Earth with one or two more characters. I find it rather refreshing to have that misconception debunked.

I used to think the same thing! Back then I just assumed all the then-previous gen versions of the game were inferior to the current gen and didn't give them a chance. Now that I'm more easily able to try them out, I'm finding a few previous gen games that are superior in some ways.
