I've owned all the exotics, maybe I'm getting old but I love the humble, easy going Dizzer. It reminds me of my previous KTM 640 LC4, a lighter, lower spec version. It has that same lazy, plush feel, bullet proof reliability but easier to own overall due to it being as common as a Camry. It has it limitations, bang for buck hard to beat. Acceptable in multiple uses, not brilliant at anything. Great all rounder.

One of the best things about the Z is long service intervals. The valves need checking for shims at 20,000km intervals. Most dirt bikes are a fraction of that, and some dirt bikes need to be rebuilt several times by then. I’d recommend buying a cheap used Z and rebuilding it with a big bore and stroked crank. It’s much cheaper and you’ll get a genuine 50hp.

Bought a brand new 2022 last week. I love it. No illusions. Suits me to a Tee and still quicker then the euro trash camp through the single track. It’s cheap to repair if you drop it. And did I mention bomb proof. I have no negative comments. I traded in my bullet proof 2015 DR650 another awesome true bush trail bike.

The E here in Canada was off road only and came with the good Kiehin carb. The S had the old school carb. Ive had both and E carb should have been put on the S. It alone makes the bike alot better.

Drz has been my dream bike all the time but cuz I live in EU, I bought Crfl. And its actually very good bike and in black edition, looks great to my eye, but drz has that very classic look I still love. Reminds me the movie "The Place Beyond the Pines".

My Brother and Dad both have clean older dirt only model DRZs here in the USA. A E and a K There is no other bike that offers both the off-road performance and then the ability to go long distances on the open road quite like a DRZ400E or DRZ400K made road legal. These new bikes either have less displacement and lower power with less capable suspension or are full blown race bikes with unreliable drive trains. It’s great to be able to tear up the trails on a real dirt bike and then hit the highway without stressing the engine. Of course not all states have the ability to do this.

How it's pronounced depends on the speedometer. If it's calibrated for kilometers it's pronounced zed. If it's in miles it's pronounced zee 😆
