Jay's going with the ripped jeans style. My parents would've be ashamed to send us kids to school like that back in the 70's. But in the mid to late 80's, that was the "in" thing! Fishin' has always been the "in" thing for me! But, at this time of the year, I'm thinking about both fishin' and huntin'. My favorite time of the year!

Nice to see people actually eating the fish they catch. So many catch handsome fish one after another only to throw them back and cast for more! Are they crazy? Hey y’all. I found you on KZbin about 3 weeks ago. I watched one video and I was (HOOKED)!!! After that first video. No Pun intended. Lol. It seems that all I’m watching on KZbin is your videos. I Love the family connection in your videos. They’ve been a life changer for my wife and myself. After watching several of your videos, (and I’m working on watching them all) I started talking with my wife about them. Come to find out,,, she loves fishing too. We have older tackle and gear that we’ve had for years but it’s a start. That being said, we just bought a 3 person canoe and trailer, (the wife wouldn’t like me buy a Bass boat,, YET)!!! Lol. In my opinion, your fishing/wildlife channel is the very best on the Tube. I wanted to Thank You both for sharing your adventures and personal life with the world via the Tube.. Y’all seem very down to earth. I wish the very best for Your family and hope your success never ends and keeps growing. Please, keep the videos coming. They are AWESOME!!! Ted M. Louisville KY.

It has been over fifteen years since my last food from a fast food restaurant. I love the food that I fix in our kitchen. Note, back in my fishing days fixing fried fish we were taught to eat bread with the fish so that you don't choke on the fine bones.
@SailorSam412 жыл бұрын
Years ago I had a recipe for pickling fish. After a few days the bones would soften and you wouldn't feel them at all. Great for Pickerel. Though the Pickerel are mostly gone where I live, I should find a recipe online and try it with sunfish. I'll bet it's good to eat them bones too. My 80 year old bones could probably use a little nutrition.

Cleaning tip., use a garden hose with a spray nossle, spray from the tail up. It'll take all the scales off. You will get wet, so spray scaling is a summer activity. Unless you live in deep south Florida.

Hey, guys... Another amazing video watching you on the lake. What a beautiful place you have. If I were planning to relocate, I think it would be there. Here's a thought. Next time you plan to catch more slab sunfish, try taking along the mini spinning rods. Almost guarantee to avoid snagging a tree. Also, if I am able to get out to a decent spot, I would love to catch some catfish and crappie and try your "double dip" batter system. Many Blessings and tight lines.

I really do enjoy catching bluegill on my fly rod and they really do fight hard for a little fish I think the wide body gives them more pushing power or pulling power however you want to call it I do enjoy eating them also used to throw the big ones back keep the small ones clean them scale them with a water hose with a sharp nozzle and then deep fry them whole I used to call them gill chips my dad and I will get the deep fryer going and have a feast. Thanks for bringing back great memories.

I prefer a bucket or wire basket as we have Muskie around here that will take your fish right off the stringer. I lost a couple nice Crappie once.
@oldmanfred86762 жыл бұрын
John, I like the Basket too. When my plastic float lid got a hole in it I cut a lid out of wood. If you take a small pool noodle and wrap it around the neck of the basket with zip ties you get your floatation back.

Have you ever tried Tempura Batter? It can't be mushy but it is a lighter batter. When I was in Scotland I bought fish and chips. It was just a saltwater Bream cut in half lengthwise, then deep fried with tempura batter. Unless it is the nature of the fish itself to be soggy when it is fried? I like experimenting with different things and I enjoy your cooking segments.
