This documentary should be shown in community colleges and for-profit institutions around the country so that graduates don't take these kinds of jobs. They seem to prey on people who don't know how to get jobs in reputable companies. There are lots of businesses like this, and a lot of ex-employees who have titles such as "manager of X,Y and Z," but who would not qualify as managers in other companies, because they were previously employed by the likes of "Credico."

Sadly, these companies will never go away because they are convenient marketing for their clients. But we can aggressively spread awareness and spread docs like these and The Slave Circle

I just quit a job from this scheme yesterday after just over three weeks of work. A customer told me he had looked at our product and it had one star - after researching the product, and complaints about the sales tactics, I saw former “independent contractors” (lol) in the comments mentioning “Credico”, “Cydcor” and “DS Max”. Among the larger lists of the subbranches, the company I worked for wasn’t listed as a scam because it had changed its name so recently - but all the sayings, tactics and practices were either exactly the same or too similar to be coincidental. Then I saw my boss’s name on a list of Credico staff compiled by an anti-DS Max blog. Caught red handed.

Idk how I fell down a hole and stumbled on this but this is crazy how accurate this video is. I started when I was 22 and was an assistant manager about 14 months later. I remember going to that event in New York shown at the end. Probably one of the only good things that came out of working with Credico was a few decent events. The frat lifestyle and sexual harassment runs upper “management” they 100 percent look for people who have sad stories and will be easy to manipulate... very much like someone preying on a broken person who will be easy to control in a toxic relationship. Working with credico was the most toxic relationships I have ever been in. I can read through bullshit now and appreciate my basic 9-5 making more money in 6 months than my manager made in a year. I saw someone saying this should be shown in colleges and I think that would be such a great resource to prevent people from going through some of the things I experienced.

I worked at one of these offices selling for Direct Energy. Essentially we'd raise people's energy bills and lock them into contracts that incurred fines if broken. The sales pitches we were trained on and would use were outright lies. However, I quite enjoyed the people that I worked with, and I did pretty well. Hitting quota would equate to $625/week, which I would often exceed. Many people would consistently fall short of that and normally quit. I do value my experience, because if you can do well there pretty much any company hiring for a sales role will be impressed by the fact that you succeeded in door-to-door sales. Where I felt deceived was the fact that they didn't inform us how much taxes we would incur, and the fact that we would have to do that ourselves. I paid (govt stole) ~$800 after working there for about 3 months. There was another issue in that Direct Energy decided to lower commissions on 2-year contracts that we sold, and didn't pay out those commissions on 2-year contracts we had sold before the announcement was made. There was no way to speak with higher-ups and work something out.

I worked for this company (Creddico) but didn't know it was the umbrella company to the office I thought my boss owned. I got free trips and food, learned to be open with walking up to people so it has its good parts. But like the rest and other stories here I am sure our hours were long and money wasn't great. What stuck out to me was the lack of funds all the owners had, everyone had roommates even in cities that would be considered cheap by Berkeley, CA standards. My boss shopped on wish, had no car, a cheap cellphone, and a bad suite, but this guy was an owner many times over? I think all his previous offices failed to like the one I left. Their name changed and moved to Dallas. For a marketing team, they could do a better job on social media as I still follow them hahaha!

Anytime they say you will not be paid for your time, (even though it was advertised that you would be) because you are " in training"... LEAVE!... Tell them you are not an unpaid intern. You can tell what they are just from the interviews... 1) The person who contacted me said they had a job in mind, but when I tried to cancel the appointment they said they also have a different job in mind. ( So if the first job doesn't grab your attention to come in, the second one might.) You would think it was the job that was advertised ( this is classic BAIT AND SWITCH). 2) You walk into the interviewer's office and it is a lot of people there waiting for an interview. You will see tons of minorities and they will ask if you have an appointment. ( If it was a real interview, they would already be expecting you). I am a minority so I thought that was strange. They will also make you wait a good 30 minutes before they see you. 3) They say they will be opening 25 - 100 offices in the next year. ( No legitimate company does things that fast). 4) The person interviewing you has nothing on their desk except a nameplate. ( Meaning they don't actually work in that office). Or their office furniture is extremely shabby. There are no family pictures, pens, etc. on the desks or on the walls. 5) They stress how you will work as early as tomorrow for a few days " to train"; and to get the layout, but you won't be paid. 6) They also ask about your hobbies, etc. dreams.... Not about your experience, or the way you talk to customers, etc. 7) They focus on RECRUITMENT more... ( which is when I started getting the idea that this was an MLM scheme). Because it is VERY FAMILIAR. I opted out of there immediately.

Robynne H. It depends on the parent company & what office you’re in. I worked in a Dallas office that was owned by Appco & we did charity donations. I got out of the business about a week ago. The business depends on new recruits constantly coming in, and if recruitment stops/stalls offices fall apart. This is because the work is so draining emotionally & financially that people wise up and leave soon. Some people stay for a while and get to “open their own business” and the parent company (Appco, Credico, Smart Circle etc) provides the clients. But very quickly owners realize that the business really isn’t their own because they don’t get to make decisions and are often making less than their reps. It’s a huge scam, don’t let your loved ones fall for it!

They all have different “products”.. it looks like Credico descendants and most of the similar OGs sell direct tv, energy plans, insurance plans, and less tangible things like policies and packages of sorts that are basically just a rip off. The place I worked for sold mainly random overpriced home goods.. usually “per bundle” so lovesack and Jennifer Adams were two of the nicer ones..but like couches, sheets, beds, often products with massage or temperature change features and the like, almost always at Costco, Walmart or Sam’s club. Almost always more expensive or requiring a big enough bundle to be so high that it was unreasonable compared to most generic, popular insurance plans or what you would end up paying for the same brand at retail price if you actually do a little research. The systems they teach you are literally the most basic, scammy bullshit akin to an infomercial

Real Madrid What makes the Management Training Program a scam is that from day one, you're led to believe that at the end of the program, you'll be running a financially independent small company. What isn't disclosed to you is that your business is financially tied to Credico. Your clients are Credico's clients. Your agents are Credico agents, who can't work without a code assigned by Credico. Your agents can only acquire customers and generate revenue with Credico-owned tablets. Your territory is given to you by Credico, and you're strictly prohibited from doing business outside your territory without Credico's approval. You're essentially a franchise manager without Credico disclosing it as a franchise. How exactly, then, are you an "owner"?
@CrackedBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
As an "Owner," you own nothing. All you have is a team of guys, a leased office, and your name on a piece of paper. You assume all the risk and liability, while Credico reaps the lionshare of the reward. Because all the assets belong to Credico, you have no business to sell. The only way to make a profit for yourself and retire is to endlessly recruit and promote enough people so you can get a cut from their earnings. All the while you build Credico's business, not your own. That's why the company is a scam.
@ChristopherLeonJohnson7 жыл бұрын
Real Madrid the major risk is that you have to sign a paper stating that once you become a "Owner" then you have to give them power of attorney to your bank account thus giving them the right to freeze your accounts or you not being able to touch your own money.

Paul Diamond You completely missed the point. If you tell your salespeople they're independent contractors and in the business for themselves, but at the same time, you dictate their work schedule, require them to clock in at your office every morning and clock out every evening, force them to train other employees, and exercise such a rigid degree of control that they're not free to work on their own accord, then 1) your workers are misclassified as independent contractors, 2) your relationship is that of an employer/employee, and 3), you're violating labor law and owe your workers a fair wage. It's as simple as that.

It's also worth mentioning that the Department of Labor has sanctioned a multitude of these Credico companies for violations. So if you do feel like emulating their practices like forcing your female colleagues to give a lap dance in a work setting, and you don't mind a judgement and a several thousand dollar fine, by all means, have at it.

Some people fail to amaze me. It is a commission based job & you are an independent contractor so therefore if you suck at sales then you don’t get a lot of money simple. End of the day you chose to work 72 hrs so either get good or stay part of the 99% who complain The business isn’t the problem because there are a lot of people doing well so therefore the problem is you!
@residentjess3 жыл бұрын
Cut the bullshit. If something is a commission based job then the independent contractor should be able to pick their hours/decide how many hours they work. But that isn’t the case, is it? They have to go for the morning “atmosphere”, go into the field for 8-10 hours for shit pay. This is unacceptable.

This is exactly what I was told three times in a row. I realized that what you're saying is also a bullsh*t script you learned to guilt workers to either work harder or quit. You know the whole thing is rigged and that the top earners/leaders are narcissistic snakes giving themselves fake job titles to lure in unsuspecting job seekers. My three paychecks were lowere than promised and I had to figure out who the money was really going to. Thankfully after four weeks I had got the job I really wanted in tech sales.

I made money, and you guys making it sound super bad :/ lol if you are good at sales you will make good money if not... then it will be a waste... just like any other commission based job.

@caviartears Completely agree. That whole movie was about sour grapes by people who didnt cut it in a tough competitive sales environment. They really need to watch the movie Glengarry Glen Ross with Alec Baldwin.

caviartears same I work for them now and I make on average 1100 a week..and these guys lost this lawsuit..they are just sour they can't follow simple systems

That is false. I know people who were at the top in their office, and suddenly one of the energy clients did a chargeback on a low income program and none of the sales people could get paid for those sales. People got $42 checks for working 70 hour weeks, but more importantly, were not even given their commissions at all. In addition, the people who quit after a month or less are NEVER paid, because it supposedly takes 4 weeks for accounts to clear. The offices profit from those accounts, but never pay up even when former sales slaves follow up with them about payment.
@frankiechase7327 жыл бұрын
how did they lose the lawsuit if it's still in motion? Caught you on your bull. You can lie to the people but you can't lie to Uncle Sam. You can even google vasto v credico www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/10016787/Vasto_et_al_v_Credico_USA_LLC_et_al

Hayden Zimmerman and Kyle Campas are two "owners" who open several of these companies around the country, mainly Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and Georgia. Do not work for these people. Their "businesses" regularly get shut down and have included A-Management of South Florida, A-Events of Atlanta, and Sway Solutions of Ohio.

I don't know about others experiences but PERONALLY... I LOVED IT! Working for them was the best year's of my life & the ONLY reason I'm no longer working for them are because they are now my competitors & I make 10X more money from my little slaves wooooo!!! Funny reading all comments on here from people who just COULDNT HACK THE FIELD!! 😂😂😂 Yes obi at the end hahahahahahaa

I've now watched the entire documentary and I have to say that I am absolutely blown away by how biased, mean-spirited and plain wrong this film is. It felt like watching one of those defamatory, negative political propaganda ads that run during election season. These people were unsuccessful SALESPEOPLE who volunteered into these positions. The back-door "meetings" you showed were 100% normal as far as I'm concerned and are meant to uplift people's spirits as sales can be a very tough and discouraging job for some people. The best sales-forces always have the best team-spirit. In any sales force, there will always be winners & losers, high-performers and under-performers. But when you don't make your sales target you usually have 2 options: Work harder, or quit. But for cryin out loud, ya don't sue! Talk about Sour Grapes! These "attorneys" were depicted as angelic, righteous figures when in fact we know that ambulance-chasing personal-injury contingency lawyers are a major part of everything that's wrong with our modern, overly litigious, overly PC society today. This movie, I'm convinced, is 100% nothing but a shameless hit-job - possibly even funded by or created by associates of the Plaintiffs or Plaintiffs' attorneys in this case. I can't see any other explanation. Shame on you BRIC (usually a very honorable, respectable organization) for falling for this. Anyone should feel free to DM or PM me - I am 100% unconnected to any of the parties and have absolutely no dog in this fight and will stand up to ANY scrutiny .... but (given the unrelated, misleading anti-Wall Street title of the film) I felt compelled to call out a gross wrong when I saw one.. Why don't you try working in one of these offices, then? See how long it takes before they pressure you to move in with the managers. Took me five days. And they're all too happy with hiring failures. It's one more person they don't have to eventually commit to the promised salary, with. The only way people survive there is by moving into group housing with their managers.

Sales is tough, man... if you can't hack it, ya get out of the Kitchen .. Didn't you ever see Glengarry Glenn Ross for cryin out loud? Alec Baldwin would be turning in his grave if he were dead...
@godlessnation97787 жыл бұрын
It's not tough. I've been in sales my whole life. I made Credico subsidiary's sales quotas for promotions -- you're speaking from the perspective of someone who hasn't been involved. It is a cult. People are underpaid, it is a pyramid scheme, and in order to keep the program going people live with the managers, where they are distilled 24/7 with management pep talks, and can live comfortably on low salaries.
@godlessnation97787 жыл бұрын
Although the one upside is that the training is actually damn effective at selling. It wouldn't take many people too long to see that they used the same direct marketing techniques they teach you to pitch products, in order to pitch you on the job. They're all really great people, who make you feel positive about yourself, and are truly invested in your development -- they have to be. You're their meal ticket.... Just like making a sale, they develop relationships and bonds, before using the pitch to sell you on how great the job is. Building relationships in order to make sales is the biggest part of the program.
