Word. This is the latest kut I've been workin on. Cool to see a tutorial on it. I think it sounds a bit better to start a little further into the sample though just like when doing a boomerang. Also for me I like to think of it as a set of 2 babies in a row then repeat. I find you get more of an accent at the start of each repitition that way.

Hey wassup Dirty Digits. Great tutorial dude. I think i've nailed the skratch but slow. When i try to do it fast, it just sounds a mess. Guess its practise practise practise! I see you have other tutorials i.e. Boomerang & Autbahn etc .... any more available? I agree with some of the other comments saying, good teacher , easy to understand!

@mrdan121014 жыл бұрын
is it the same if you leave the fader open after the transforms? as i dont seen the need to close the fader as you are back at the start of the sample...

I'm in full agreement. I've noticed a trend of people incorrectly labeling combinations w/ cuts/transforms/stabs as flare combinations. I don't get it. And, a delayed flare is a technique, but something very different.

hello, i need conseils ! i can do every moovement of scratch like flare, swing flare etc...but some of this, i can do the speed let's say speed 1 very slow, 2 and 3 but i can go further and go to speed "4" without doing bad movement with de cross. who had the secret to go quickly.?

Baby scratch with stab and backstab. No flare at all in this combo. WTF !? Flare is done by starting with the fader open and perform a "click" (one, two, three click) in the middle of the sound.. We don't see that in the combo.
@Stevenskate15 жыл бұрын
fader hand movement is the same exact thing like the 2 click flare.... that´s why peaceee

Ready?
@yepyep389711 жыл бұрын
No, a chirp combination shouldn't have the stab that he's using, but I almost agree w/ you.

man im at the point where I've forgotten almost all the specific scratch technique names and just flow with it
@SmoothBlendzTV11 жыл бұрын
Damn looks easier than a regular one click flare. I guess it's because this scratch starts and stops with the fader closed.

@justynanogala13788 жыл бұрын
Yet still, starting with the fader closed gives you more possibilities. You can switch to autobans, boomerangs, and delayed flares very quickly.
@elephantgrass6317 жыл бұрын
Starting with the fader closed automatically makes it a non flare scratch. In fact, since you're not clicking anywhere near the middle of the sample, it's not a flare.
@williammuff548510 жыл бұрын
Any advice for speeding it up. I can only get it double time comfortably at like 90bpm. :-(
@barrywatts85014 жыл бұрын
It's very strange way it's called a swing flare. It does not start or end open. Should be called slice and dice!
