A small correction. AK tolerances are actually very similar to that of other modern rifles, and had been so for decades. What you are referring to is smaller CLEARANCES between moving parts. And by now we all know that those clearances are what they are on purpose.

I have a Sig 553R (basically this but 7.62x39) and it's my favorite gun. Everything about it feels solid and quality. Shoots softer than a standard ak. Runs great suppressed, since it's got adjustable gas. The basically 12 inch barrel is such a good length for 7.62x39, only losing 100fps vs a typical 16 inch. It is a little chunky, for its size (about 7lbs). And the trigger is weird, it's rubbery in a way lol.

The Germans have a problem. They overbuild something, people find out there's a problem and Germans will deny there is a problem til their deathbed. They refuse to admit they are wrong about anything. It happened in the 30's and now they thing time skipped 25 years. Ask any German, they thing time went 1932, 1933, 1949, 1950. The Swiss will look at another person's problem, like Steyr with the TP9. Then they will fix it and offer to sell the fix, if they don't buy it, they will buy the design, fix it and sell more than the original design did. That B&T TP9 is so much nicer. I have shot the old steyr thousands of times (I owned one) now I own the B&T and it's 1000% nicer. It's even lighter than the old one after they fixed the issues. The beautiful sphinx pistol, I own one, it was my first pistol. Now I own the B&T also and it's better, much smoother and more accurate. I want them to buy the MP5, the sl8 and the mp7. They would be sooo much better.

That’s taking it a bit too far. The Swiss have more money, and it shows; their firearms and watches are 🤌. They have an ability to expertly gauge the luxury mkt. for demand and meet it. But the Germans are undoubtedly the world’s best engineers. If it needs run reliably, put a German in charge. If it needs to look and feel opulent, put a Swiss in charge. Porsche, H&K, and A.
