guys this product is great. thanks for making this little reviews for us. this way of thinking about drumming is great, not only by teaching cool chops and beats, the gadgets and new products is what (sometimes) we need to move forward. most of the time we forget about our feet and what we can do with them.

+Remko v.d. Wielen Exactly, you still wouldn't be able to change this in the middle of a song, and if you really need two change between to songs its no problem if you have the tools ready.

+Remko v.d. Wielen I would recommend trying it out before making any snap judgements. You may be surprised at how this can really trigger you to play something new. And anything that inspires me to get on the kit and play is a good thing in my books. Thanks for the feedback though!

Drumeo I don't know man, imagine that thing coming off while playing a show.. If you're really into changing bassdrum sounds I highly suggest adding another (different size) bassdrum,as a lot of other drummers do.

I would buy it just for the brush beater. That thing sounds awesome. Admittedly, at the beginning of the video I was like, "come on, are you serious? It's not that much of a pain to swap out beaters..." But now I'm sold. Kinda cool.

I'm a thirteen year old drummer and I've been playing for ten years. I'm playing things like rossana by toto, fool in the rain by left zepplin, (which are both based off the Purty shuffle), roundabout by yes, some Santana, some nirvana, some foo fighters (love Dave ghrol), and some Boston. do you have an idea on what I should play next??? I've grown up in a musical family and for my first drum set at age three. love watching your videos, James.

maybe a good question to ask the sound man, if your playing a gig that has some ballads , would he prefer this instead of adjusting your sound for certain songs, you could try it out during sound check.

My two cents on this product: it's very much a niche product within an already very niche market. Me personally I'll stick to a standard hard-spun felt beater, and if I need a different, softer sound for jazz, I take a wool sock and secure it with a rubber band. If I need a more staccato sound, I'll just bury the beater (since my pedal technique is to play out of the bass drum, with the beater un-buried). With that said I definitely can see the uses for such a product and if this kind of product is something you can find some use for, definitely buy it. Clearly the person who designed this product has run into this issue before (otherwise he wouldn't have designed it in the first place), which means if one person had the issue that this solves, there are many more with the same thing.

I really like the idea of being able to switch the beaters really quickly. however, how often does it really happen, that one switches the genres of music that one plays from song to song? especially live. but besides that, great idea.
@crimsun71869 жыл бұрын
+MelsBlogMusic Well, this opens the way for a whole bunch of different ways you could play things. I believe there's also a drumstick attachment, which could allow you to have things like foot operated snare drums and things like that, which could also help people with disabilities.
@MelvynHaas9 жыл бұрын
+Crimson Sunrise sure. that could really be helpful. all I'm saying is, that I personally think, that for my style of playing it would be a bit useless, because I personally do not need to switch food pedals that often as it is. But sure, it could really be helpful to other people and different styles of playing, if that is what you want to do.

Great idea but my Pearl Eliminator double pedal came with a beater that has 4 sides; 2 felt and 2 plastic, all with different sounds.
@Mudge076 жыл бұрын
The advantage of that is that you can use one beater and use each of the four sides, however the disadvantage being you have to get your key out to unlock and re-tighten at each turn. This device would require 2 twin heads (minimum) to replicate the different tone options but you could change them ‘on the fly’ with one hand in a trice. For me, I don’t see me needing more than two beater styles for my current set list so a single, double-faced standard key beater will suffice. Not a 100% must-have but like cowbells etc, some drummers’ repertoires cry out for an add-on, or efficient way to quickly role-change.
@nickpov3y9 жыл бұрын
i think this would be better if the holder was universal so you could already use your fave beaters rather than buying a bunch of theirs, or is that the case already?

+Javier Peñaloza Yes, I love that beater. I really like that one, as well as the Tama Iron Cobra beater (not the one from the Speedcobras, those suck).
@HeyLook2879 жыл бұрын
I mean, its really not necessarily that difficult or time consuming to change beaters, I think if you can make it so you never have to physically touch the beater to change it, that would be the killer there.

Interesting product! Do they make any semi-adapter to adapt this system to other brand beaters?
@ucmanales9 жыл бұрын
+Diogo Almeida its a beater. it has a stick and a beater and as i now you cant remove the stick from other brands beater. if you think you cant actualy make semi-adapter. If beaters from other brands could be unmounted from the stick then it would be a diffrent story.
@ediot69698 жыл бұрын
It took 8 seconds for you to switch the first beater and you were in no hurry. My guess is, you can buy different beaters and switch them out Almaty as fast. Go idea, just not too many guys really needing it.

I like this idea very much but after looking at the price I don't think I will be getting it anytime soon. the whole setup would cost nearly $250.00 even if I only bought the attachments I would use your still looking at $150.00 which translates into 4 sets of heads and a bundle of sticks.
