THE T BOX PYRIT 212 SUB A TWIN 12” SUB BASS SPEAKER REVIEW

These are Thomann own brand P.A speakers. Under the branding "The Box", They also do "The Box Pro" range. Never used them but they look like pokey fun cheap rig for what you get. They do an active 18" sub called the box dsp pro 18 that's 400 quid!?!? and looks like a good bit of fun, you could run a quad stack of 18's for less than 2 grand and then a set of 15" and horn from the same range would run you about 600. I'm tempted.

I think these things are a bit of a secret weapon. My Yamaha DSR112's are so loud and toppy that they need two 18" subs per speaker to realise their full potential and this is never going to happen with my Volvo estate... However I can see myself getting four of these and stacking two either side... I first heard of these from a DJ who swears by them with his DSR112's. I also think I want the bass punchy on the dance floor rather than having bass that can be felt for miles. As long as they go deep. I had complaints from the house next door to the venue last time I had my 18" sub going at full pelt. It was making their windows vibrate lol.

Great to see you still doing your thing.. That's dedication right there.. Shame they don't do a single passive version of these.. So I'm going for 4 of the double 12 passive and run them off a single 4 channel class D amplifier pushing out 4 x 3400 rms @4ohms. I should have plenty of headroom minimal distortions. all my mids/tops are active so I'm good to go

Stick a limiter on it though that's a lot of power for those subs.

@@TimpBizkit Indeed. My amplifier has DSP limiter all sorts. It's a long wait before I get my subs.. all sold out so looking at other options.

@@cassiya100 I built my own passive subs. You can buy top end 18s for 2 or 300 quid. In my case I just have 12s as my car is small

@@TimpBizkit I'm thinking the same. Ideally i'd like 4 x 12" subs and add more later. The idea is small compact one man lift straight in my Ford focus for small events. I also own a ford transit so more cabs is not problems.. Everything has to be a one man lift that's paramount.. I'm looking at many cabinet design that has good 40 - 100hz output. What did you build?

@@cassiya100 from reports I've heard that JTR make a pretty good double 12, but it's more expensive than the pyrit by far.

Hi. Love the video. I was looking at getting the bundle set from thomann. 2 of these subs and a pair of matching 12 tops. My question is would this be powerful enough for a 250 people indoor seated gig, a sort of loud karaoke show. Thanks so much.

@Robs Rob Hi. I have exactly this bundle from Thomann. I use it for smaller raves. It's a very good set. I'm very satisfied. But it's not strong enough for 250 people. Greetings from Germany.

You would need at least 2 of these for 200+ people , i use 2 18" with very sensitive Eminence Kilomaxes at 1000w rms each and they are only enough for 200 people

I do really like the look at this bass bin. But even with castors, what's the mobility like for lifting on stage? One bin would be fine, if you can move this around. Many thanks, Steve.

If you can say, there's the sub woofer over there, then You have set them too loud. Bass should be None directional, therefore You should not be able to pinpoint were the sound Is coming from. Nice set of subs. You got the asking price on the EV S200's Jonathan. I was going to bid for them, but I was out when they came to the end. I would have gone 4 maybe 5 on them, Damn.

I thought the same because there is a fan on the amplifier inside but it would be pointless because behind the amplifier it is sealed im guessing the amplifier doesn't run very hot

I have one question, I have 4 behringer b212d and I would buy two bass stages like these two from the video, is it profitable and is it a good move, the price for two bass stages is 1000€

Yeah, only horn subs suck at cardioid because of the phase and delay
