The Tale of Genji: Aoinoue Japanese dance and music

Reading Tale of Genji now. Very beautiful story. Genji is a very interesting character. He's someone you can't help but sympathize with over the death of his loving mother, his alienation at the Imperial Court and his father the Emperor wanting to protect his son by making him a commoner. And even though he is just a captain at Court, his father still cares for his wellbeing. Genji is someone who is described at physically perfect and yet maturity wise he's really irresponsible and doesn't think about the consequences of his actions. A womanizer with a heart of gold. He's an aristocratic playboy with mommy issues. But despite all that he has a very kind heart. I'm still on Volume One and that is my take on him so far.
