Keep in mind...this was put together by COLLEGE students for a final project. College director, college production team, mostly college student actors, on their way to greater things, so judge warily. For what they had, they accomplished a great deal, especially the magic of the bridge; they had a tough time figuring that out.

@julieluke14347 жыл бұрын
Yes, it could have been. But, in this case, that's not a valid reason as to why this isn't James Potter. There was no relative named James close enough in James Potter's/Ignotus Peverell's family tree to have electricity and all that jazz but James Potter. In fact, James' own father was probably born sometime in the late eighteen hundreds either around when or just after the lightbulb had just been invented, making it virtually impossible for this to be anyone other than James Potter.

+HowItOughtToBe Actually, they probably did. J.K. has stated that James' parents were very old to be having children, even by wizarding standards (wizards live longer than Muggles, you know), so it's probable that he was. We know he was born pre-1909, and to be old by wizarding standards you have to be ollllldddddd. Therefore, late 1800s.

The invisibility cloak was in the Potter family so James probably was a Potter based on two things. First of all the grandad was a Peverral, but James could be a Potter if the grandad had a daughter who married a Potter. Then secondly he is likely a Potter as by a guess of the time setting based on the house, it is only decades (20-40 years depending if this is Harry's dad James)before Harry was born, so the cloak would be in the Potter family by then to be given to Dumbledore to give back on Harry.

That is impossible that the little boy is James Potter sr. because it is said that Voldemort and Harry Potter are distantly related through the Peverell family ( the three brothers). Then J.K. Rowling opened to the public that Ignotus Peverell was the youngest brother and he had a daughter, just one daughter and she married Hardwin Potter and the second brother Cadmus peverell's desendant is Marvolo Gaunt, father of Tom Riddle's jr, mother making Voldemort related to Harry. The grandfather is definitely Henry Potter ,James s grandfather how ever he is also a mirror caracter for Ignatus , long story short , he was reading this story as he knew He was about to die ...and died without telling the end also when James learned the end of the story he imagined his grandfather greeting Death as an old friend the way Ignatus has done ! Or maybe as healders of the invisibility cloak are granted by death as a friend in honor of that one only man who managed to truly cheat on her for years and years , but still choose to grant her as his oldest friend in the end ! The third brother only had a daughter who married a Potter who then had Harry grandfather
@joshlaure97835 жыл бұрын
You so stupid because a peverell girl married a potter hence the cloak had to be passed down to the potters which was then passed down to james potter. (Your the one that has to do research)
@hannahdyson63915 жыл бұрын
No it's not . This is set hundreds of years after the sorry of the original three brothers . Unless he's immortal that's not him

@herschiel5 жыл бұрын
No. Check the Potter family tree on Pottermore, Ignotus Peverell (the youngest brother) had a daughter, Lolanthe, and married Hardwin Potter. The cloak then was passed down through the Potter family. It is you that needs to do the research.

This is really good I am confused why this doesn't get more views and a lot of people are hating on this. Some mistakes can't be avoided, but the overall quality of this really went beyond my expectations. And that horror movie ending! I almost jumped out of my skin when the door closed and the kid did a sort of creepy smile. xD I hope the creators of this don't get discouraged by those people who probably hasn't even tried a hand in making films and videos. Let me tell you people, making those is HARD. Like, unbelievably hard. If you really liked what you're doing then you might even think of it as fun but it doesn't take away how hard it actually is to develop films with this scale. Kudos to the director, the amazing actors, and all the people behind the scenes! I really enjoyed watching this, it was a pleasure. :) Thanks for the upload!

That was the best fan made video of Harry potter I've ever seen . Like brilliant absolutely brilliant I've always wondered if there was more to it about the brothers, how the cloak got passed down to Harry . Good job guys . I like how you made death too , the grim reaper can take whatever form it desires.

Can't be because the Peveral line ended with Iolanthe Peverell who was an only child and married a Potter that isn't descended from the 3 brothers.
@Skieth04 жыл бұрын
Its a james potter, If the grandfather is the youngest brother then his daughter married into the potter family, and james of that age being the first potter tobe descended of him.

okay but James P. must stand for Peverell not Potter because the last of the Peverell line was a woman who married a Potter.Also james' parents died after he finished Hogwarts

I assume the grandpa is Jame's mom's dad. Then the mom can mary a potter and that James a potter.
@slytheringirl78727 жыл бұрын
No grandpa on his fathers side not his mother. His mother was Dorea Black who married his father Charles Potter both purebloods created James their son. As he got older their son fell in love and got married to a mudblood named Lilly Evens in turn they created Harry James Potter the boy who lived a half-blood.

@patricialaw577 жыл бұрын
The kid was okay, considering this is a college project, and yes some of the start may have been a bit shaky, but he might've just been getting into the feel of it again, and hey, not all of us are child prodigy's at like 10-15 or something. And no you don't have to act, but we can't really say anything too bad if you can't do it yourself, or don't know the process behind it.
@wandamaximoff79037 жыл бұрын
But the thing is not all have equipments, especially college students. I'm a musical director and also did some films currently in high school. But to be able to pull it off by themselves is a tough challenge even though it might seem low budgeted. You could see the majority of work is that they did try to push it through :)

@juali2228 жыл бұрын
I really love it! This is really creative! You did a really great job!!!! And to those complaining about death being a girl: remember that the grandfather just made that up. He just changed his mind for a girl being the bad one... We all know that it's not specifically said in the tale but the girl as death is just the grandfather's version. And also I know that its pretty possible that this James p should be Harrys father, but what if a long time before Harrys father was born, there was another child named James. I mean it's totally possible, isn't it?

That is fun. The effects are good, and so is the acting. The 2nd brother's wedding photo moving especially brought it home that we were in the Potterverse. Lmao "he went with Death gladly, as an old friend..." [Death literally knocking his door down while he's trying to tuck his grandson in]

is the old man meant to be ignotus? if so then that cant be james potter
@lillavsy6 жыл бұрын
I don't think he is Ignotus, he is just the last member of the Potter family who knew what the invisibility cloak really was, and when he knew he had to die he passed it down to the youngest member of the family, James, and the ending is only the way it is because it makes the short film more complete.

This was well made. I've always wanted to do a project like this but haven't had the chance. For the tools available and people involved in making this I'm very impressed, better than a lot of movies that have been made lately. This is quite an interesting adaptation and I didn't know what to expect so I just want to say thanks for making such a well crafted movie.
