I’m a lot older than the target audience so I’m going to sound stereotypical. Back in my day, the purpose of the first date wasn’t romance but do something fun so you can know the other person. Sex and romance was never expected especially on the first date. First date, dinner and a movie, roller skating or anything you find fun and talk to each other so you can better know each other. Maybe young people see dates differently than what we did back in the before time. The purpose of dates and first dates was to get to know someone. Love your videos

Story time, the only time I was in a talking phase/situationship was when he was pressuring me to date him, and I semi-caved-in and we were in the talking phase. Then it transitioned into a situationship. However, I still wasn't sure if I liked him like that or not, and trust me when I say that I told him numerous times. He would keep saying "are we in a relationship yet?" And I said "I'm still not sure yet, I'm sorry" and stuff like that, because I genuinely wasn't. Keep in mind that I haven't had an irl boyfriend before him (but had a few online ones), and unfortunately, later, he used that fact in an attempt to manipulate me into becoming official with him. I say unfortunately because it was a successful attempt, and we dated for about 3 months. The official end was actually completely fine, but there was an unofficial end soon after that that was not fine. End story time. Edit for more context: Near the end of our relationship, I genuinely fell for another guy at my college. Needless to say I realized what he said was bullshit about irl love vs online love, but he is low-key a psycho so I had to plan to break up with him because I don't know how he would take it. Then he ended it himself later after I distanced myself from him, but I started dating the dude I fell for soon after. Then my ex found out and it.... wasn't fun. Needless to say, I used my talking stage/situationship to figure out my feelings, and also thoroughly communicated that and all my feelings up until he manipulated me into mistaking my confused feelings for real feelings. So yeah

My best friend is in a situation-ship rn, she's getting frustrated bc the girl(Z) she's talking to is jealous of another girl(T) my friend was talking to years ago, but plans with Z keep getting cancelled, and T is commenting and posting about bff on IG . Everyone's advice (including mine) is for my bff is to confront Z about labeling their relationship, and either staying with Z and making it official, or leaving her and dating T (who she really likes and have been friends with for years) Me and bff's sister are rooting for T, we know that they work well together and obviously like each other. Plus, Z doesn't seem that interested and is kinda leading her on, never texts first, dry texter, doesn't talk much, and only talks a lot to vent about her own problems. While T is super sweet, super engaged with conversation, calls bff 'princess' and reminds her to take care of herself, ect. This really brought some flashbacks... I mean, it's hard to believe you deserve better treatment when all you know are people using you, ghosting, making you look and feel paranoid and all the other BS. Sometimes it takes a healthy relationship to open your eyes and really see how toxic all those "talking phases" were.

I'm in the talking stage right now and the person I am talking to is so nice and really handsome. But, I've had horrible relationships in my past and this new talking stage has caused me to have flashbacks and strong panic attacks. In the past I have jumped into relationships so fast cause I got a sort of 'high' from it, causing me to downfall and spiral at the end cause the honeymoon phase feeling isn't apparent anymore ( leading to massive trauma) It's really scary and he knows that I go through it and understands everything I communicate, but it's still SO terrifying. I'm really trying to take it slow and communicate to him, it's really nice to talk to someone who is patient like them. I even had to make a list for myself on what I can and can't do when in the talking stage! ( just to make me feel better lol ) This video made me feel a lot better :)
