Ingredients:
Spaghetti - 250 g
For the meatballs
- Mixed minced meat (pork and beef) - 600 g
- Onion - one piece
- Bell pepper - one piece
- Crushed garlic - 3 cloves
- Bread - 3 slices (or 40 g breadcrumbs)
- Green parsley
- Eggs - one piece
- Salt, pepper - to taste
- Cumin - a teaspoon
- Mustard - a teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 40 g
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
For the sauce
- Onion - one piece
- Carrot - one piece
- Crushed garlic - 3 cloves
- Mashed tomatoes - 500 g
- Salt, pepper - to taste
- Sugar - a teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 40 g
- Bay leaves - one piece
- Basil leaves - 4 pieces
- Olive oil - 2-3 tablespoons
For the composition of the meatballs:
Finely chop an onion and a bell pepper. Dice the slices of bread and the coarse parsley, then mix. The bread can be replaced with 40 g of commercial breadcrumbs and you don't have to mix anymore.
Put the meat in a bowl and season with salt, pepper - to taste, cumin. Add crushed garlic and mustard, then onion and capia pepper, bread mixed with parsley (or 40 g breadcrumbs).
Add an egg and grated parmesan and mix well.
We form the meatballs with our palms greased with a little oil.
Fry the meatballs in vegetable oil for about 4 minutes, on medium heat, then remove the meatballs on a plate.
For the sauce:
Finely chop an onion and grate a carrot and saute in olive oil.
Add salt, crushed garlic, water - 2-3 spoons, pepper, 500 g of pureed tomatoes mixed with 100 ml of water and 4 basil leaves.
Add salt if needed and a teaspoon of sugar. Boil the sauce over low heat, covered with a lid, for 10 minutes.
Put the meatballs in the sauce and a bay leaf. Cover the pot and cook everything on low heat for 30 minutes. Turn the meatballs from time to time.
Put the spaghetti to boil in 2.5 l of boiling water with a teaspoon of salt and boil for 2 minutes less than what is written on the package.
Remove the meatballs from the sauce, remove the bay leaf and add 200 ml of water in which the spaghetti was cooked to the sauce.
Put the spaghetti from the pot in which it was boiled directly into the sauce and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add 40 g of Parmesan cheese, mix and turn off the heat.
Sprinkle with chopped basil or green parsley and Parmesan.
