I want to point out two things I observed and figured out myself that has a queer context: First the song "Robin" sounds like a dedication song to Gaylors, such as the lyric "the secret we all vowed/ to keep from you in sweetness" sounds like Taylor's team decided to keep Taylor's sexuality a secret from her fans in the most sweetest, kindest way possible (so that they don't "ruin" Taylor's career and image). The "you look ridiculous.. you have no idea" sounds like when h0mophobic Swifties accuse Gaylors of sounding "crazy" but Taylor is reassuring us Gaylors that we are on to something, we were right all along. The second thing I want to point out is in the song "But Daddy I Love Him" I feel like the having a baby joke was implying that people would look at Taylor funny if she claimed she was having her muse's baby since she and her muse are both cis women and cis women can't have babies together naturally unless they get IVF treatments, but most straight people are not aware of the fact that there are family-planning methods for sapphic couples so they would look at a woman funny if she claimed she was having her female partner's baby.

Haven’t listened to all the songs. Literally bought her album off her website and I’ve been playing ‘Who’s afraid of little old me’ on repeat. 😳I wish So long London was a half hr long. The cadence and vocabulary in guilty as sin is just top shelf. Who’s afraid little old me sounds like Lana Del Ray the most. How she pronounces and elongates words but the crescendos in it are amazing! This is all subjective, all these takes. I think it’s interesting but some reaching. You did admit it’s a lot more of a reach though for I can fix him. 👏🏾 Taylor’s dad seems like a dick. In her documentary he wasn’t supportive of her when she’s talking about stalking, laws to protect women, she was crying and got up and left the room. He seems tone deaf to what she experiences. Who’s afraid of little old me immediately made me think Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf. Oh my hell you had to break down what the word masqueraded means for your audience? The audience is that dense? Oh that’s sad. Unrelated-I think Dianna really leans into the sapphic energy in roles, outfits, the killers music video, her posts. Taylor likely is very restricted to lean into anything sapphic. Also wasn’t Clara Bow the 1st “It” Girl while Taylor is the modern it girl. And Emily Jean Stone (Taylor’s friend) was an it girl and she very cerebrally broke down it girl is really only a concept. And I’m amused you commented you wished some songs weren’t song and didn’t go on as long or you didn’t expect them to be so heady (not the word you used, but) the album is called tortured poets department for a reason. You’re a poet. I’m like 🧐🤨poets obsess, break down, over analyze, over think, ruminate and you didn’t think those traits would show in the songs? 🤯ok.

So even though it may be hard for you or I to understand, we must be aware of this fact. Especially since I'm fairly certain closeting in the Hollywood scene is still very proment. Just imagine that for a former country star that began her career in the 2000s, whose fanbase also regularly dives into her relationship with men, much like we do when it comes to her relationship with women. If Taylor is sapphic in any way, there is a selfish part of me that hopes she does eventually come out, because I believe it could potentially allow her some relief in life while also causing a dramatic shift in the industry as a whole. Can we not respect that as a community? This is so much reaching. She openly talks about how people also sexualize her female friendships, so none of her friendships are seen as safe spaces for her. She has healthy, deep female friendships. As a lesbian, this video gives me the ick. We should really respect people who advocate for our communities a lot more, rather than create fictional speculative Easter Eggs on how they're secretly also lgbt+ . It feels almost predatory. Especially when this album is overwhelming very clearly about Joe, Travis, and mainly Matty Healy... confirmed by the fact his family came out and made a statement of how he was tipped off. I'll take her at her word that she's not gay, but certain of her lyrics, close female relationships and apparently disposable male relationships don't help her make the case. Someone on Quora answered a question posed recently about whether or not TS could be mentally ill and made at least as compelling a case for that as for her possible gayness. He noted that the rate at which she collects and disposes of men, and even women, though differently, without any real sadness, then immediately turns the affairs into songs/stories isn't typical by average (non psycho- or sociopath) emotional standards, makes the relationships more of a business enterprise, whereas an average person might be wracked by guilt or a mess of emotions after a failed relationship. I find the sheer rate at which she goes through people, including female friendships/affairs, weird and makes me question her ability to relate honestly and deeply to anyone without a songwriting/business ulterior motive. She could be on the spectrum. Definitely a complex woman. Having attained such an extraordinary level of fame, wealth and power, her highest priority is probably to preserving that status over being honest publicly about her sexuality if she is, in fact, gay.
