Original is tough act to follow.. loved David's irreplaceable voice. And Smokey wrote and performed so many of his own. Was in high school on my way to hockey practice when I first heard Tears of a Clown. He could turn a sad lyric in to an uplifting joyful inspiration. Made me want to get out there and fly off my blades. Hard truths can be borne up by grace ... smokey was pure grace and pure joy. Motown was a huge blessing in this white boy's "wonder years."

Heya evidently some of you haters need to listen to The Temptations well after the original group. I've listened and watched them perform many many times. Otis Williams Still holds these guys to a Higher Standard. Every one of these guys are very gifted or they would not have been given this opportunity. I'll continue to be a loyal fan, and follower. The only time i was upset with them is when they went to Atlantic Records for 2 bum albums, but they came back to reality. lol lol First off the original lead singer of this song was David Ruffin. You CAN'T compare lol Ceelo Green to David Ruffin. You can't compare any singer to David Ruffin especially since Smokey Robinson wrote the words to this song. Let me explain something that you may not know. All the hit songs Smokey wrote for the Temptations were planned. Smokey would write a song around the singers vocal range and tailored it exactly to the lead singers ability. In this case it was David Ruffin with My Girl.

Otis Williams is the last remaining Temptation. It's not a tribute act. A tribute act wouldn't have an original member or someone who recorded on the Motown recordings. While it's not the classic lineup these guys are terrific in concert but not so much on CD.
