Been watching these recent top ten playlists, and enjoyed yours as well as the others. Your narration reminds me how much our “Top Tens” are really the soundtrack to our lives. Thanks for sharing!

Listened to this today, the anniversary of Holly's passing. It was nice to hear you mention her. Holly and I lived with a "Kathy" in Michigan, so America meant a lot to us.

Great choices. I didn’t know a few of these. The back cover of Discovery…that dude is Brad Garrett (of Everybody Loves Raymond Fame) apparently. A New World Record and Face The Music are my favorite ELO albums

Great choices Harry. ELO discovery is my favorite by them. Not a bad song on there at all. Reminds me of being 18 or 19. Love The Beach Boys! I just put a new mix together yesterday of them.

I have been putting this off as well, and you inspired me to start jotting down my list. What’s unbelievable is that you showed J.J. Cale’s “Naturally” 5 seconds after I wrote it down on my list. It’s undoubtedly somewhere in my top 3… perfect LP.

Hi 👋 I like JJ Cales music. I had his album Troubadour back in 1976 on vinyl. It contains the single from it called Travellin Light, which I like. I'm in my sixties and i have a large music collection from the 1960s to the early 2000s. The,Beach Boys i grew up listening to, hits on the radio such as Don't worry Baby 1964, I can hear Music 1969, Sloop John B 1966, Do it Again 1968 etc. America put out some good songs. Badfinger were a good group too. They were signed to the Beatles label Apple. Two members of the group committed suicide. I can emotional too listening to music. I'm getting older now.

Consider myself to be a pretty big Fabs nut, but somehow, aside from their hits & being aware of their tragic story..somehow missed Badfinger. Then I saw this video. saw an opportunity to get this album the other day (the original single LP not the reissue you have) and went for it solely based on your reco, Harry. And damn, am I glad I did. What a gorgeous record! Thank you so much for turning me onto it! 👍🏼

Very nice list. I have 8 of your picks. All favorites. Personally I (very slightly) prefer “Low Spark”, “Hat Trick”, “Eldorado”, and “Straight Up”, all of which are in my favorite 25 all time albums, along with “Naturally”. My picks would also contain some West Coast folk rock (CSNY, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell), some prog-rock (early Pink Floyd, early Genesis, Yes, Alan Parsons, Mike Oldfield), and a lot of Beatles, and their solo stuff too.

the 1st 2 Albums I could easily put into my bucket list... I'm a fan of most of the others, but I love listening to CHICAGO 1st Albums and the 4nth side always moves me. JJ Cale, I hell I cover one of the songs and had the 1st 6 or 7 albums released once. Some of the others were too commercial for me, so I won't go there :) ... anyway, Peace - m.

That James Gang album needs a re-release. What a great, great record. If I'm not wrong Analogue Productions has all the James Gang masters (as well as the Steppenwolf masters), and I would dearly love to hear the Joe Walsh era albums on audiophile vinyl (33 rpm please)...
@ijeff200511 ай бұрын
That James Gang album is a dynamic debut once you get past the wasted 40 seconds at the beginning. It relies a bit too much on cover songs but they're so damn impressively done I won't complain too much.

@@harrysmusicroom That's one helluva find. I have the AP pressing of 'The Smoker You Drink...' but I've always preferred 'Barnstorm' by a slight edge. BTW if you haven't heard JJ Cale's 'Really' (follow-up to 'Naturally') then check it out. It's more stripped back and has a great groove ('Right Down Here', 'Changes', 'Soulin', 'Mojo'). Cheers...
