Sorry but wizards are the master class of BG3. Most utility, most firepower and most knowledge of the world. I am playing as Gale and he is carrying the team. Clerics and rogues are useful, but not AS useful. And then fighters are just muscle which is optional

@@CalvinJary Mage is definitely powerful AF. My personal favorite right now is Brawler Berserker, cuz the items that give bonus dmg to throws makes that build OP as all hell against single-targets. But, even so, Mage still takes it for AoE and utility. Ground effects alone are so OP. I thought Sorcerer would be my fav for sure, but it ended up being a huge disappointment, since Dual-Cast applies to so few spells.

Mages once they reach level 10 are so ridonculously overpowered, it's not even funny. OK they are a bit squishy but they can literaly make a party a powerhouse, luckily the mage xp in AD&D makes them hard to level up, but they are essential. I'd say more so than a healer with pots.

In BG1 you could leave them in Friendly Arms Inn and they'd wait for you there to pick them up again. I don't remember how 2 went down.

you could leave them anywhere, and they'd usually wait in the same spot until you return (if your rep differs too much from the character's alignment they might leave forever in some cases) some Enhanced Edition-exclusive characters returned to the Friendly Arm, but nobody in vanilla in BG2, they'd often go to a specific location, like the Copper Coronet or locations specific to them (like the Harper building for Jaheira)

For me, it is story relevance for the stuff i am doing, then their skill-set for what i expect to run into. Usually Gale for versatility, astarian for doing more damage than the rest of the party combined, and then i agonize over not being able to bring more than one more person.

I've never used Astarion in a party. He died immediately after 1st bite attempt on my initial playthru, and has never been part of my party spec on subsequent games. Nothing he can do that isn't covered by my character.

In Dragon Age series it's far easier, if you aren't playing as a Rogue then you always need a Rogue Companion. However, if you are playing as a Rogue yourself then it gets more difficult to choose.

Characters, acting, writing, costumes and especially timing (with "at the camp) were perfect. I find all the small details with facial expressions and tones and accents when speaking very hilarious (no over acting or such). Difficult to find right words here but you guys nailed this! Same with Poop McDinglefart scetch, great comedy!
