The Prosset Dibs subplot was the BEST and most interesting thing about the otherwise generic Mace Windu comic by far. To see a Jedi's resentment of the Council boil over with the stress of being on the field spoke very well to the deteriorating condition of the Jedi. I'm really glad we get to see more of his story.

1:30 That would actually make a ton of sense. It's one reason so many real militaries randomize numbers of units and formations. To keep enemies guessing (also many of the other units getting merged or deactivated, but I don't think that the Inquisitors would suffer from that)

I just don't get how fans complain about there being no grand unifying vision or direction for the entirety of Star Wars canon moving forward and pointing to the MCU as if it is some perfect flawless thing. (I love the MCU too so don't get me wrong...) This shows that there is. The current focus of Canon right now is pointing out the hubris of the Jedi and how they are not the be-all-end-all of the Force or the light side. The Last Jedi, Ahsoka going rogue, the Bendu, Yoda finding Force Rocks, Barriss Offee... it is all connected thematically. The Lucasfilm Story group are consummate professionals and they are knocking it out of the park.

Disagree. I don't like how, outside of the comics, they seem to be moving away from Jedi and Sith in general, and Jedi and Sith were what got me and a lot of other fans into Star Wars in the first place.

I wish the new Star Wars movies would connect like the comics, books & even video games do. The Sequel Star Wars Movies seem so disconnected from the rest of the Canon. Sometimes it hard to imagine that the galaxy that the events in the comics & books (and even earlier Star Wars Saga Films) are in the same galaxy that the Sequel films take place in. While I do like the new Sequel films in the Star Wars saga, their biggest issue for me is their lack of connection to the rest of the Canon.

To be honest, I love the new Vader comics. However, they do miss opportunities constantly, such as having Jedi who have no canon death or ending become the surviving Jedi after Order 66. There are council members such as Eeth Koth, Oppo Rancisis, Yarael Poof, Yaddle and Coleman Kcaj who they can easily use as a strike team against Vader and his Inquisitors. Also there's non-Jedi council members they should use such as Quinlan Vos, Barriss Offee and Butler Swan. Genuinely wish they'd do something with these characters. The only reason I haven't said Mace is because I feel he'd be more appropriate for a film or a series if he survived and a comic just wouldn't do him justice due to his major role in the prequels.
@massacrepromotionsofficial43026 жыл бұрын
Conrado Javier Yaddle, Oppo and the others were developed in the EU and can be done again. New Jedi can be made too but nostalgia can also be applied. Also Quinlan and Barriss are still relevant in the clone wars. This is all my opinion, no one has to agree.

Something I was wondering if you could do an episode on: Battle of Yavin, if the Proton torpedo fired by Luke merely disabled the Death Star's outer defenses and superlaser, but left the station itself and it's crew intact. If the Rebellion were to decide to take the Death Star by force in a "land" war, would it be possible, and how long would it take? Preferably using Legends sources, and even the use of Force Unleashed characters Rahm Kota and the Starkiller clone as well as Luke as the resident force users. This is a question that I've had for a while, so it'd be awesome if you could address it!

I think there are really only two options for her character, either she became an inquisitor, or had a change of heart in prison, turned down the offer, and was executed. Do you think the Inquisitors’ lightsabers all have adjustable blade lengths? It’s interesting to see the Tenth Brother with two shoto style sabers. I think that’s the first time we’ve seen Jar’Kai with a pair of shotos in the canon. I hope we eventually learn all of the Inquisitors origins and former identities. That moment when the seventh sister first sees Ahsoka in Rebels, something about the way she looks at her, it was like seeing a ghost from her past. I honestly thought and still believe that she is Barriss Offee, but the writers are holding off that revelation for some reason. I wouldn’t mind a novel detailing the Grand Inquisitor’s life from an idealistic and dutiful Jedi hopeful to a cold and calculating Jedi hunter, preferably written by James Luceno.

Charles Soule is a great writer, especially among Marvel's current roster, given their current... obsession, let's say. Obi-Wan and Anakin was a great comic, and while the entire Inhumans thing in mainstream Marvel was ultimately a flop, he at least tried to make that work- but, hey, that's what you get when you replace one of your major franchises with a cast best known for appearing in FF.
@mitchellhayward64926 жыл бұрын
I'm all for it. I think his straight up attacking Mace Windu was a bit too far, even for a Jedi. If it were up to me, I would have had an argument between the two, where the Inquisitor - adhering to the Jedi ways - really strains in forcing himself NOT to attack Mace, clenching his fist tight and so on. So that we still know that he's questioning the Jedi, but his disgust - and by extension, hate - has a chance to really get under his skin and fester. As for Barris being an Inquisitor, it could still happen. Just because the Seventh Sister happens to not be Barris - it doesn't rule out that Barris could be an Inquisitor as well.

I don’t think Barrie Offe should’ve been any of the sisters. She claims that the Jedi were losing their way, she was basically saying that it was being controlled by someone dark and would turn into something very different from the true ideals of the Jedi(hence Palpatine’s Empire). She went against the Jedi order because she thought it was blind it letting the Republic turn into the Empire, she never wanted the Empire to come. I doubt Palpatine would let her live anyways due to her suspicions
@trueambition69726 жыл бұрын
But I do think that Baris should’ve had some type of reference or be re introduced because it’d be cool to see where she fit in, if she were a rebel but no one would trust her, like imagine her going to Ashoka for her to forgive her.. Or her just thinking there’s no way to win and just living a pitiful life.
@dominickrone57516 жыл бұрын
Maybe Barriss Offee did die in Order 66 somehow. Even though it's not confirmed, it's very much possible. If she didn't die in Order 66, maybe she died in jail, or got out of jail during Order 66 and lived as a civilian on another planet, like Alderaan maybe, in which Barriss could have been killed by the Death Star when it blew up Alderaan. Or she might have become a criminal and got killed by imperial police.. so many theories can be made out of Barriss Offee's unconfirmed fate.

If the 10th brother was a jedi master then doesnt that make him the strongest inquisitor and possibly stronger than the Grand Inquisitor?

I still think Barriss could possibly be the Third or Fourth Sister. Granted we have no idea where the Red-Skined or Black Twi'lek rank, or which inquisitor lightsaber Maul has. As seen from Fallen Order, I guess its possible Maul could have faced an Inquisitor and taken the lightsaber, while that Inquistor escaped, but probably not considering its Maul. I do kinda have a head canon though; what if Barriss Offee was the Fourth Sister, and was sent to track down and kill Maul. This could explain the Fourth Sister's disappearance, yet apparent armor still around, and how Maul has part of an Inquisitor's lightsaber, he faced off against the Fourth Sister (Barriss) and she lost to him. Until proven otherwise I like my theory :D

As cool as Bariss being an Inquisitor would be, if memory serves her motivation was being upset at the Jedi being the personal watchdogs of an increasingly corrupt government. So you'd have to put forth some effort into rationalizing why she would serve THE EMPIRE.
@apology896 жыл бұрын
I don’t think Barriss Offee is seventh sister; while Ashoka has become far more skilled with lightsabers, Barriss was already well trained enough to not rely on the intimidation of a spinning blade to do battle. I say this because although it is intimidating, both Ezra and Karen became skilled enough to hold their own against 5th Brother and Seventh Sister. Also I know it sounds dumb to point this out, but how could her voice change so drastically between Clone Wars and Rebels? I can understand losing the accent, but suddenly sounding like Sarah Michelle Geller is stretching it.

Yeah, that's kind of why I don't like Mace Windu very much. I honestly think that if things went differently during the last days of the republic, he would probably be thrown off the council and probably out of the order entirely because he was basically the reason that Anakin went to the dark side. Sure there were other factors like Anakin having SERIOUS mental health issues but Mace was one of those factors. Anakin was LOYAL to the Jedi, sure his version of Jedi teachings were slightly different but that's not a bad thing, and Mace treated him like an outcast and basically shot a tank shell at his ego by not making him a master when he was allowed to be on the council. If Obi wan stayed on Coruscant I doubt that Anakin would have fully turned to the dark side, maybe had a bit of a mental breakdown because that is definitely something that would have happened eventually considering he was a slave during his formative years.

Star Wars Explained Why does disagreeing with the Jedi make you "dark" or mean that you've now embraced the dark side? Didn't Qui-Gon Jin disagree with the Jedi high council and think they'd lost their way but he wasn't considered to having gone to the dark side? It seems a little inconsistent. I know Jedi like Baris did something wrong and those acts should be condemned and may lead to the dark side but it seems though that the writers of Star Wars are implying and writing that disagreeing with the Jedi council means that you have embraced the dark side. This seems to be true in all cases but Qui-Gon Jins. Furthermore we know the Jedi Council had lost it's way a little; becoming a servant to the republic senate and not the force. Wouldn't that mean that the council had gone to the dark side a little? So why did the Jedi Council not give in and go all the way to the dark side while other Jedi who noticed the error in the misaligned Jedi Council seem to fall to the dark simply for disagreeing with the council; again with the exception of Qui-Gon Jin. Cannot a force user leave the order, be good, and adhere to the light without being a Jedi, or is associating with the Jedi Order the only way to be considered on the light side, good, or to have the right moral compass and perfectly correct teachings? What about Ashoka Tano then? She seems to be the only exception. Do you know of more? What are your thoughts? (Canon and Non Canon)

I said this before, but Barriss betrayal was just badly done, I don't think they really know what do with her, since it did not fit her character at all. Maybe some story that take place during the clone wars and explain why she changed so much would save her story. Or just retcon it, lul.

Interesting. The question is if that was a plan for the TV series, that never got put into action because it was cancelled, or something later on. Still, I don't think Barriss turning to the dark side like that makes sense in-universe. They just had no other Jedi close to Ahsoka whose betrayal would have been shocking, so they chose her.
